Greg Gutfeld on Saturday took on Dylan Ratigan and Ted Rall for advocating a violent revolution on the former's television program last Monday.
Giving the closing comment on "Fox News Watch," the "Red Eye" host also pointed out the delicious irony in a cartoonist "calling for a government overthrow with guns and violence on a network, MSNBC, that accused Tea Partiers of the same" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
JON SCOTT, HOST: As some in the media still reel from the Democrats’ midterm shellacking, MSNBC’s Dylan Ratigan upped the left-wingnut rhetoric by suggesting it might be time for a revolution against the Right. His accomplice in this mission? A malcontent cartoonist. “Red Eye’s” Greg Gutfeld is ready and waiting.
GREG GUTFELD: So a while back, the Washington Post asked cartoonists what they thought of “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day,” that protest against radical Muslims who threatened to kill anyone they think mocks their prophet. One guy named Ted Rall ragged on it saying, “While most [cartoonists] vigorously support free speech, many are uncomfortable with the idea of provoking the anger of devout Muslims…”
Now I bring this up because this is the same guy who just appeared on Dylan Ratigan’s show to suggest a violent revolution in America, which Ratigan pretty much liked. Here’s what Rall wrote in his book:
A war is coming. The government, the corporations, and the extreme right are prepared to coalesce into an Axis of Evil. Are you going to fight back? Will you do whatever it takes, including taking up arms?...I want to you to see that revolt is a good idea, and that it has never been more necessary.
So get this: A bitter cartoonist is calling for a government overthrow with guns and violence on a network, MSNBC, that accused Tea Partiers of the same. Worse he won't stand up to a real threat but now urges violence against peaceful folks.
Me, I can't wait to see Ted coming at me in his tweed coat and sweatpants, swinging his NPR tote bag armed with his rolled up yoga mat. But it ain’t going to happen. Advocating phony revolution is where idiots like Ted start and end. For “Fox News Watch,” I'm Greg Gutfeld.
