Two days after the Democratic Party’s massive wins and the cast of ABC’s “bona fide news program” The View was in such high spirits they were already looking forward to getting their presidential candidate nominated for 2028. Of course, their hive-mind determination was that they were spoiled for choice when it came to the depth of their bench. Meanwhile, according to them, Republicans had “no talent” to draw from. The show’s token Republican couldn’t even be bothered to push back in any way.
“But there's such talent on the side of the Democrats right now,” co-host Joy Behar boasted, much to the agreement of pretend independent Sara Haines. “I mean, I can name like five off the top. One is coming on the show,” Behar added. She didn’t say exactly who, but they did have Senator-elect Abdul el-Sayed (D-MI) on later in the show.
Faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin quipped that Behar was “hard launching” who ever she was talking about. This led to the cast, including Farah Griffin, throwing out names of Democratic politicians they would love to see run:
BEHAR: You have Ossoff and Kelly, that’s a great ticket. You have Buttigieg, very, very smart guys.
SARA HAINES: Wes Moore.
BEHAR: You have Wes Moore.
FARAH GRIFFIN: Josh Shapiro.
BEHAR: And you have el-Sayed.
HAINES: Beshear, Pritzker. You’ve got a lot of great.
“So much talent and they have no talent on the other side that I can see,” Behar proclaimed. Co-host Sunny Hostin agreed, parroting, “That I can see, yeah.”
When asked by Behar to name some of the political talent the GOP would field in 2028, Farah Griffin whiffed and chose to argue that the party needed to soul search first or die out as a party like their predecessor.
The View is already looking to 2028 with Joy Behar proclaiming, "there's such talent on the side of the Democrats" while "they have no talent on the other side that I can see."

“Well, first we have to figure where this party is going or we’re going the way of the Whig Party, which is no longer a thing,” she laughed.
Unsatisfied with that answer, Hostin pressed Farah Griffin a couple minutes later for more concrete names. When she mentioned former Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the cast exploded:
GRIFFIN: I think the question is does the party learn anything? Because if it doesn't they'll double down and it'll be some version of J.D. Vance, Marco Rubio, or Ron DeSantis. People are talking about Ron DeSantis today because -
BEHAR: UGH!
HOSTIN: Ron DeSantis?!
[Crosstalk]
FARAH GRIFFIN: Listen to this one, because Florida didn't totally go blue. They lost a lot of congressional seats. And by the way the Democrats lost by like one or two points and Dems didn't even spend money on those races.
“Ron DeSantis is now arguing they needed to be tougher on immigration enforcement. That is not the lesson,” Farah Griffin decried.
Seemingly out to say the most incendiary thing imaginable, Hostin claimed DeSantis wanted more enforcement of immigration laws, “So more people could be shot in the streets!” “Has he been watching what’s going on?” Haines asked.
When asked again to name talent on the right, Farah Griffin scoffed at most of the big names that have floated to the top since Election Day, including some who have distanced themselves from Trump:

“We won in 2024, Republicans won a lot of the Latino vote and bled all of those gains because of ICE enforcement,” Farah Griffin chided.
Let’s be honest, Farah Griffin was more interested in who the Democrats who run. When she was still in the tryouts for the show, she was desperate to support whoever they picked to back: “I’m curious. Like who are the Dems going to run? Where is like the Obama energy that we could bring?”
She also received applause from the cast and audience when she announced she was voting for Vice President Kamala Harris.
As for who could run from the Republican side, in addition to Vance, Rubio, and DeSantis, there were Republican Governors like Glenn Youngkin (VA) and Kim Reynolds (IA); senators like Ted Cruz (TX), Tim Scott (SC) and Joni Ernst (IA). There are also plenty of retired military leaders like H.R. McMaster.
Farah Griffin and The View may not think the GOP bench had talent, but they just don’t like them and never will. Therefore, their opinion means nothing.

JOY BEHAR: The thing with Vance is that - I think he has aspirations to be president.
FARAH GRIFFIN: Of course.
BEHAR: Don't you?
WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Oh, I’m sure.
BEHAR: But there's such talent on the side of the Democrats right now.
SARA HAINES: Yes!
BEHAR: I mean, I can name like five off the top. One is coming on the show.
FARAH GRIFFIN: Ooh.
[Cheers and applause]
You're hard launching him?
BEHAR: What?
FARAH GRIFFIN: I said, ‘you’re hard launching his presidential campaign?’
BEHAR: No, I'm just saying the talent is there. You have Ossoff and Kelly, that’s a great ticket. You have Buttigieg, very, very smart guys.
HAINES: Wes Moore.
BEHAR: You have Wes Moore.
FARAH GRIFFIN: Josh Shapiro.
BEHAR: And you have el-Sayed.
HAINES: Beshear, Pritzker. You’ve got a lot of great.
BEHAR: So much talent and they have no talent on the other side that I can see.
SUNNY HOSTIN: That I can see, yeah.
FARAH GRIFFIN: Can I just weigh in on the J.D. Vance of it though?
BEHAR: Wait, who is the talent on the right side?
FARAH GRIFFIN: Well, first we have to figure where this party is going or we’re going the way of the Whig Party, which is no longer a thing.
GOLDBERG: Or the Tea Party.
FARAH GRIFFIN: J.D. Vance, if you read this post, and I encourage everyone to. He's writing it like he's a cable news pundit analyzing from the outside. You are the sitting vice president. You are the number two policymaker, and you led negotiations on the war in Iran. Remember that terrible MOU, memorandum of understanding that fell apart? You own the war in Iran.
But it's also missing the mark because, of course, the war is a factor. It drove up gas and diesel prices, promised no new wars. But it was far more than that. When you look at the map from Tuesday night, when you see deep ruby red parts of the country going blue that is tariffs.

HOSTIN: But to Joy's question, where is the talent on the right?
FARAH GRIFFIN: I think the question is does the party learn anything? Because if it doesn't they'll double down and it'll be some version of J.D. Vance, Marco Rubio, or Ron DeSantis. People are talking about Ron DeSantis today because -
BEHAR: UGH!
HOSTIN: Ron DeSantis?!

FARAH GRIFFIN: Listen to this one, because Florida didn't totally go blue. They lost a lot of congressional seats. And by the way the Democrats lost by like one or two points and Dems didn't even spend money on those races.
HOSITN: Yes.
FARAH GRIFFIN: Ron DeSantis is now arguing they needed to be tougher on immigration enforcement. That is not the lesson.
HOSTIN: So more people could be shot in the streets!
HAINES: Has he been watching what’s going on?
FARAH GRIFFIN: We won in 2024, Republicans won a lot of the Latino vote and bled all of those gains because of ICE enforcement.
HAINES: But arguably, the Florida elections were a referendum on the immigration and how bad it was.
FARAH GRIFFIN: I would totally agree with that. But Mitt Romney said it very well, ‘erratic tariffs, impulsive war, blanket pardons, apparent corruption, the hiding the Epstein file, abandoning allies, and coddling enemies hoping for a course correction.’ We got to figure out what we’re doing.
