Sunny Hostin used her platform on ABC’s “bona fide new program” The View to once again urge viewers in Maine to vote for Democratic Senate nominee Graham Platner. Additionally, she called on Democrats to abandon their morals and do whatever was necessary to take back power in the House and Senate, even if it meant voting for a Nazi. She was also supported by guest co-host Sheryl Underwood who argued it was okay to vote for Platner because “Charles Lindbergh was a Nazi sympathizer.”
“Look, I don't think Republicans, at this point, can ask us to take the moral high ground. That is over at this point,” Hostin proclaimed, reacting to Platner winning the Democratic nomination. “It's time for Democrats to stop that nonsense, put emotions on the side, let's be strategic, let's get some power, let’s take over the Senate and let’s take over the House and let's right the ship! Let's get our country back!”
Hostin continued with her direct appeal for Mainers to elect Platner:
I am sorry, I am someone that believes in character, I am someone that believes that morals matter. But because of the state of this country, I would -- if I lived in Maine I would hold my nose and I would vote for Platner! I would!

Underwood, who filled in for co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin as a “Republican,” was back for the week filling in for co-host for liberal Joy Behar.
For her part, Underwood tried to give viewers in Maine the political cover to vote for Platner by citing Lindbergh’s Nazi sympathies and a Nazi rally that was held at Madison Square Garden in 1939:
UNDERWOOD: But most people don't know, Charles Lindbergh was a Nazi sympathizer.
HOSTIN: Yes, he was.
UNDERWOOD: And they had Nazis rallies over at Madison Square Garden and there are people that believe this stuff. And unfortunately our country has pivoted to a way where I don't care what the guy is, can we control the House and the Senate so that maybe we can impeach --
[Crosstalk]
I think what people want. They want is control the House and Senate. Hopefully, they can impeach the President this time and vote him all the way out.
Guest co-host, filling in for Joy Behar, Sheryl Underwood proclaims it's okay for Democrats to support Platner because Charles Lindbergh was a "Nazi sympathizer" and MSG hosted a Nazi rally. Ahead of Hostin and Underwood’s get out the vote effort for Platner, The View cast were tripping over each other to attack former Trump campaign manger and White House aide Kellyanne Conway for criticizing Democrats for supporting Platner:
CONWAY: So I'd ask the Democrats, is power really worth that to you?
[Cuts back to live]
[Crosstalk]
WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
SHERYL UNDERWOOD: Oh nah -
[Crosstalk]
GOLDBERG: Look. Here, you got it.
[Crosstalk]
SARA HAINES: Super rich coming from her.
GOLDBERG: Can we -- yes, do you remember who you helped put in the White House?!
UNDERWOOD: That's right. That's right.
The View proclaims that Kellyanne Conway doesn't have a First Amendment right to criticize Graham Platner. pic.twitter.com/lOK8gjaXEx

They were adamant that Conway didn’t have a First Amendment right to be allowed to speak on the matter:
GOLDBERG: So you can question, but YOU can't question.
HOSTIN: She cannot.
(…)
HAINES: Kellyanne Conway cannot.
It’s getting harder for ABC News and Disney to defend The View as a “bona fide news program” to the Federal Communications Commission.

SARA HAINES: Super rich coming from her.
GOLDBERG: Can we -- yes, do you remember who you helped put in the White House?!
UNDERWOOD: That's right. That's right.
[Applause]
GOLDBERG: I mean, in terms of scandals.
SUNNY HOSTIN: Wow.
GOLDBERG: -- He boasted about grabbing women by their private parts.
UNDERWOOD: Who is they?
GOLDBERG: You know who he is. He is reported to have cheated on all three of his wives and allegedly avoiding paying income tax for years. He was taken to court for allegedly stiffing his vendors and his bank - bankers and own family and he's the only president in American history impeached twice for high crimes and misdemeanors.
So you can question, but YOU can't question.
HOSTIN: She cannot.
GOLDBERG: You can't question it because you helped put him in there.
HOSTIN: Isn’t she the person who invented “alternative facts.”
GOLDBERG: Yes, she is.
HOSTIN: She is the person. And let us also remember that he was also convicted of 34 felony counts.
UNDERWOOD: That’s right!
GOLDBERG: There you go.
HOSTIN: And found liable - civilly liable for sexual abuse so let's add that to who’s in the White House.
GOLDBERG: We can talk about Platner. He has his baggage but you can't come and go, [putting on a mocking voice] “You need, to look at what you’re doing!”
SARA HAINES: Kellyanne Conway cannot. I’ve go ahead and come for it.

ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: Between Susan Collins and Graham Platner, I'm with Susan Collins.
HOSTIN: Look, I don't think Republicans, at this point, can ask us to take the moral high ground.
UNDERWOOD: There you go.
HOSTIN: That is over at this point.
UNDERWOOD: That’s right.
HOSTIN: That is over.
FARAH GRIFFIN: It’s a choice.
HOSTIN: I'm sorry. Democrats have always fallen in love and Republicans have always fallen in line. It's time for Democrats to stop that nonsense, put emotions on the side, let's be strategic, let's get some power, let’s take over the Senate and let’s take over the House and let's right the ship! Let's get our country back!
I am sorry, I am someone that believes in character, I am someone that believes that morals matter. But because of the state of this country, I would -- if I lived in Maine I would hold my nose and I would vote for Platner! I would!
UNDERWOOD: See, I guess my question is, is the debate more about the people of Maine electing this guy or saying it when you had was it Mills? What’s her name?
FARAH GRIFFIN: Janet Mills.
UNDERWOOD: Janet Mills was still on the ballot. I just think that the stakes are too high and I think also it says something about the country that these are the type of people. It used to be no, I'm not going to elect this person. But most people don't know, Charles Lindbergh was a Nazi sympathizer.
