On this episode of the NewsBusters podcast, I discusses the liberal media’s reaction to the Trump administration’s wins on the world stage over the weekend and their begrudging admission of hard truths (or something close enough). I also speaks with podcast producer Ben Graham about the media’s continued attempts to claim Pope Leo XIV as theirs (while trying to pit him against the conservative wing), and one media personality’s flip-flop on him for a reason only skin deep.
We kick off the podcast with a roundup of the Trump administration’s wins on the world stage and the liberal media’s varying reactions.
ABC’s Good morning America tried to spin the 90-day trade deal between the U.S. and China as a defeat for Trump, despite the tariff percentages being rolled back bigly by both sides. The network’s senior political correspondent Rachel Scott framed the tariff roll back as a “dramatic retreat” from Trump. She also scoffed at the announcement that Trump was going to sign an executive order to lower the price of prescription drugs.
On the other hand, MSNBC’s Morning Joe engaged in Nobel Peace Prize talk.
CBS’s 60 Minutes actually admitted that fraud was a massive problem within government spending, but also suggested DOGE was too ill equipped and too ignorant to know where it was and how to go after it effectively.
We close out with a deep conversation about the secular liberal media’s less-than holy intent to pit Pope Leo against conservatives in the church, and their history of maligning conservative popes. Graham points out that that they’re opportunistic, which explains why they initially decried Pope Francis.
Of course, no podcast with me is complete without a discussion of The View. This time, I brought a clip of co-host Sunny Hostin doing a 180 flip-flop on Pope Leo. Suddenly loving him after it came out that he’s part black.
Enjoy!
