In the wake of the apparent racist mass shooting in Buffalo, New York, the liberal media have been using it to dangerously stoke hatred against Republicans who had nothing to do with the attack carried out by a self-described leftist. And taking part in fanning those flames was ABC’s vile coven known as The View. On Monday’s show, Joy Behar seemed to openly threaten Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (NY) and her staff, telling them to “quit now” and that she was “warning” them.
Amid their collective screeching against Republicans and their peddling of fictional mass shooting statistics, Behar decried that you should “stop saying that you are pro-life if you are pro-AR-15s” and claimed, without evidence, the shooter was “listening to people like this Elise Stefanik.”
Then she leveled her apparent threat against the Congresswoman:
We're all looking at you, Elise. You know, somebody on Twitter said, all of your staff should quit now! We're warning you because it's only going to get worse! Quit now!
During a time like this when tensions are high and nerves are raw, it’s extremely dangerous to make statements like this. The View is known for trafficking in hate and lies and their viewers inexplicably believe what they say. And who knows who’s listening and could be incited to violence.
Behar’s comments there weren’t the first time during Monday’s show they falsely claimed Stefanik had peddled in “replacement theory.” Co-host and supposed lawyer Sunny Hostin was forced to read a legal note that included Stefanik’s denial of being a racist, which drew jeers and condemnation from the cast:
HOSTIN: Yeah. You know, I think to Ana's point, we need to point fingers, and we had Elise Stefanik whose spokesperson also said -- it was a senior adviser for Elise Stefanik -- I have a legal note. A senior adviser for Representative Elise Stefanik said in a statement that, “despite sickening and false reporting, the Congresswoman has never advocated for any racist positions.”
WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Ohh, not true!
BEHAR: Oh, please!
ANA NAVARRO: It’s in writing! We have the receipts! You paid for them!
They never presented “the receipts.”
All Stefanik has said is that Democrats had hoped new immigrants who registered to vote would support them and not Republicans. She also pointed out how that hope was not working out for them and Republicans were seeing historic gains among Hispanic and African American voters.
“To equate opposition to illegal immigration with Nazism and white supremacy is a desperate attempt to stoke outrage & avoid covering Joe Biden’s border crisis,” Stefanik wrote in a Facebook post about such smears. And on the killing in Buffalo, she shared on Twitter how she and “our nation is heartbroken and saddened…”
After reading the second part of the legal note, which dealt with their smears and attacks against Fox News, Whoopi Goldberg claimed they were speaking in a secret “code” to say racist stuff. “Being black this long, I’m aware! I know it's code! I know. We recognize it!” she shouted.
Together they flashed their authoritarian bent and decried the protections of the First Amendment:
HOSTIN: So, they should be allowed to hide behind that!
GOLDBERG: But they are. Because they're allowed to hide behind the First Amendment.
HOSTIN: But they shouldn't be allowed to hide their hateful, racist rhetoric, and to Ana's point, we need to be able to point it out.
And as they were going to a commercial, they took some parting shots at the Congresswoman. “But you have people like Elise saying, ‘but I'm not racist. I'm not pushing it,’” Hostin griped. To which Behar proclaimed: “She's a liar! She's a liar!”
This threat against a member of Congress and her staff was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Ensure and Olay. Their contact information is linked so you can tell them about the hate they fund.

JOY BEHAR: Stop saying that you are pro-life if you are pro-AR-15s in the hands of young men who have wild ideas and racist theories in their heads, that are listening to people like this Elise Stefanik. We're all looking at you, Elise. You know, somebody on Twitter said, all of your staff should quit now! We're warning you because it's only going to get worse! Quit now!
SUNNY HOSTIN: Yeah.
HOSTIN: Fox News as said that Tucker Carlson wasn't endorsing the white replacement theory, but instead making an argument about voting rights. That's my legal notes. But let me say this very quickly, what he did was he politicized race theory. He politicized it. So, he's saying that Democrats are replacing native-born Americans with immigrant voters.
GOLDBERG: A lot of the Democrats are American voters. What are you talking about, Tucker?
HOSTIN: It’s replacement theory. It's code, and we hear him and we know it.
GOLDBERG: Being black this long, I’m aware! I know it's code! I know. We recognize it!
SARA HAINES: But Sunny, they’re not hiding.
BEHAR: Let’s not forget where this started. It started with birtherism. I mean, it's been in the country --
GOLDBERG: It's been here for many years.
BEHAR: But it got exacerbated with Trump starting with birtherism, and then that Charlottesville March. “Jews will not replace us.” You remember that? It all sort of came from then, and it's gotten worse and worse and worse.
GOLDBERG: It's been around for quite some time. It's now upfront. It's no longer me saying, “hey, does that rub anybody else the wrong way?” It's real.
HOSTIN: But you have people like Elise saying, “but I'm not racist. I'm not pushing it.”
BEHAR: She's a liar! She's a liar!
