MRC President Brent Bozell on Tuesday asked Americans to reach out with love and support to those who are suffering from the disaster of Hurricane Florence. “It’s times like this that Americans always rise to the challenge and rush to help our fellow man.... Rush to help your fellow man. Rush to help your fellow Americans.”
In a special video message, Bozell directed Americans to a list of charities they could support. Or they can go to Give.org.
The MRC president reminded, “Hurricane Florence has destroyed billions of dollars worth of property, wrecked homes and businesses, left tens of thousands without food and power and tragically taken many lives with the death toll still rising.” He concluded, “If every American could give just a small donation, we could do so much to help our family and friends in the Carolinas and other areas impacted by Hurricane Florence.”
A transcript of the entire video message is here:
BRENT BOZELL: Hi, folks. There are many times in our history when we must put politics aside and come together as Americans. Today, I’m coming to you with a special message about Hurricane Florence. We are located in the Northern Virginia area. The early models showed we were going to take a direct hit and we began to prepare. But then Florence turned and headed south. Now, this was very good news for us. But it spelled disaster for the Carolinas. In its wake, Hurricane Florence has destroyed billions of dollars worth of property, wrecked homes and businesses, left tens of thousands without food and power and tragically taken many lives with the death toll still rising. Resources are pouring into the Carolinas, but so much more is desperately needed. Housing, food, clothing, medical assistance, even clean water. Anyone who has watched the news over the past couple of days can see that folks in North Carolina, South Carolina and elsewhere in the effected areas, they need our help and need it right well.
It’s times like this that Americans always rise to the challenge and rush to help our fellow man. I’d like to ask you to do that right now. Rush to help your fellow man. Rush to help your fellow Americans. There are many charity organizations out there doing good work. If you’re interested in donating, you can find a list of charities at USA Today. The web address is here on the screen as well as in the blog below. And you can find good advice about how to determine the best donor at Give.org, a project of the Better Business Bureau. Or work with your local church or synagogue or civic association. What’s important is that we all do something, that we all do our part. If every American could give just a small donation, we could do so much to help our family and friends in the Carolinas and other areas impacted by Hurricane Florence. Thanks for caring. Thanks for helping and God bless.
