MSNBC's Roberts: 'We Need to Just Be Complacent in the Fact That We Can Send Our Children to School to Be Assassinated?”

There’s media bias – and then there’s just plain being unhinged.   MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts exhibited the latter in his interview this morning with Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) was egregious and irresponsible.  Roberts insisted that the United States has incredibly lax gun regulation while Kingston argued that mass shooting still happen in places where gun laws are stringent – namely in Europe.  In turn, Roberts sneered, “so, we need to just be complacent in the fact that we can send our children to school to be assassinated?”  [See video below page break.  MP3 audio here.]

Somehow – in the MSNBC universe – supporting gun rights – or being pro-Constitution – makes one ‘complacent’ towards such hideous acts of violence.    Leave it liberals to inject hyper-emotionalism into a political debate, which leaves both sides fuming and unwilling to work with one another.  To insinuate that pro-Second Amendment Americans are content with sending our kids to school for assassination is hyperbolic and grossly insulting to millions of Americans who love their children and who also responsibly own and use firearms for shooting sports.

MSNBC spent the campaign season prosecuting a counterattack against the "war on women." It seems Roberts has gone off half-cocked waging his own war against reasoned, balanced journalism.
