CNN anchor Don Lemon was not hesitant in placing his blame for the government shutdown at the feet of Republicans. On Tuesday's Tom Joyner Morning Show, Lemon blamed Republicans but insisted he is not partisan.
"I'm so mad this morning," he ranted, and added it was partly due to "the false narrative that both sides caused this shutdown. That's not true. It was caused by Republicans, mainly Tea Party Republicans."
Lemon immediately threw up his hands and said he wasn't partisan:
"And don't write me saying that I'm a bleeding heart liberal. I am not a Democrat. You hear that? I am not a Democrat. And I am also not a Republican. Once I became a journalist I disavowed political parties because I took a personal oath to tell the truth no matter what, regardless of political party."
Last week, Lemon accused the Republicans of lying and "holding the American people hostage." He also thought racism motivated the dislike of Obama by "some Republicans."
"Part of the reason, some Republicans, not all, don't like the President is yes, because he's black. You know that. I know that. They know that. And the President knows that," he said on the September 26 Tom Joyner Morning Show.
