Discussing Trump’s upcoming meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Geist said with a noticeable smirk and hesitation:
“Trump is lavishing praise on Xi ahead of this meeting, which is a strange thing for the art of the deal guy, to give all this, you know, this fluffing, if you will, of President Xi.”
In porn industry terminology, a “fluffer” is the person whose job is to arouse the male performer off-camera right before filming. Geist’s pause and smirk made it clear he knew exactly what he was saying.

The line came during yet another Morning Joe segment attacking Trump for being too complimentary toward authoritarian leaders. For the MS NOW crew, Trump’s personal rapport-building is never a legitimate negotiating tactic — it’s always portrayed as weakness or something much sleazier.
This is pure gutter snark from a show that pretends to be serious journalism. If a conservative host had used the same language about a Democratic president “fluffing” a foreign leader, the liberal media meltdown would have been nuclear. But on Morning Joe? Business as usual.
Trump’s deal-making style with leaders like Xi is fair game for debate. But turning it into porn slang is sleazy and pathetic.
Morning Joe keeps proving they’re more than happy to wallow in the gutter when Donald Trump is the target.
