MSNBC Blithely Reports Biden Making Sign of the Cross At Mention of Boebert's Name

Joe Biden Lauren Boebert MSNBC Deadline White House 11-30-23 Wait! Aren't Republicans the ones who inappropriately drag religion into politics?

And surely no Democrat would ever perform a religious ritual as protection against the mention of a Republican's name? And yet . . .

On Thursday, Nicolle Wallace's MSNBC show, with Alicia Menendez as substitute host, rolled tape of Biden crossing himself after he mentioned the name of Lauren Boebert.

Menendez blithely said, without comment, that Biden "made the sign of the Cross at Boebert's name." Think MSNBC would be so nonchalant if a prominent Republican made the sign of the Cross at the mention of a Democrat's name?

Biden had ventured into Boebert's congressional district in Colorado to give a speech at a wind turbine plant. Biden reportedly:

"sharply criticized Rep. Lauren Boebert in her Colorado congressional district on Wednesday afternoon, attacking the Republican directly for several minutes during his 23-minute long speech."

According to the Good Catholic site:

"It is appropriate to make the Sign of the Cross whenever we are feeling spiritually attacked. The devil hates this sign, so we wield a spiritual power when we use it."

The article also suggests making the sign of the Cross when one is afraid

So which is it? Is President Biden afraid of Boebert? Does he perhaps actually see her as the Devil?  Or, as is likely, and would be even worse, was this just a cheap political stunt, using religion as a laugh line from the partisan Dem crowd?

And again, how do you think the liberal media would react if a leading Republican Catholic made the sign of the Cross at the mention of, say, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's name or -- heaven forbid -- that of Ilhan Omar or Rashida Tlaib?

PS: It's a bit comical for HuffPost to report this as "Joe Biden Scorches Lauren Boebert With Hand Gesture," which implies something less Catholic.
