Nicolle Wallace: Dems Are 'Consistent' While Right Running 'Smear Campaign' Against Biden

May 1st, 2020 5:30 PM

Nicolle Wallace got up on her high horse, cracked the whip, and began circling the wagons around Joe Biden.

On her MSNBC show this afternoon, Wallace said, as someone who was once "a part of the Republican Party," that when it comes to Tara Reade, "the right" is not being "intellectually honest," and is instead "running a smear campaign against Joe Biden." In contrast, those honest old Democrats are simply seeking "consistency" about #MeToo. Wallace ended her anti-conservative diatribe by warning, "everyone should proceed with caution about statements made around this on the right."

Here's a transcript of the exchange:

NICOLLE WALLACE: Let me say this to you, having once been a part of the Republican party: the right isn't running an intellectually honest operation to get to the bottom of whether Tara Reade was victimtized. The right is running a smear campaign against Joe Biden.

The right wants to create some sort of equal playing field on which Donald Trump’s more than two dozen or nearly two dozen accusers have some company on the other side. The right is not running same operation that the Democrats are running, which is to try to have some consistency around statements that I think just about every elected Democrat has made about women in the context the 'Me Too' movement.

So, as I said with Kayleigh McEnany, everyone should proceed with caution about statements made around this on the right."

So let's get this straight: "the right" is only out to "smear" Biden. But the left was not out to smear and destroy Brett Kavanaugh? Please don't lecture us about "intellectual honesty," Nicolle Wallace. Have you no shame?

Note: Al Sharpton, a guest on Wallace's show, will be interviewing Biden tomorrow on his MSNBC show. He signaled that he will be giving Ol' Joe the kid-glove treatment. As far as Sharpton is concerned, he has nothing more to ask about Tara Reade, and will only invite Biden to add anything he might so wish. Sharpton then intends to turn to a discussion of how minorities are disproportionately harmed by COVID-19.
