Joe Scarborough says it's wrong to describe Barack Obama as a "conservative sell-out." Agreed! He was and is a hardcore leftist who pushed the country as much as he could in that direction.
On today's Morning Joe, chatting with former Obama White House press secretary Robert Gibbs, Scarborough made an impassioned plea, suggesting that "after four years of Donald Trump, maybe we need to go back to square one with the Obama administration and then move forward from there."
Got that? In his utter renunciation of conservatism, simply returning to the good old liberal days of Obama is insufficient. Joe wants to "move forward from there." Onward Left-Wing Soldiers!
Scarborough doesn't like hearing Obama described as a "conservative sellout," and he knows something about being a sellout. If there were any remaining doubt that Scarborough is no longer a conservative, if he ever truly was one, he removed it this morning.
Note: Scarborough made his pitch to return to the halcyon Obama days of yesteryear in the context of saying that a number of the Democrat presidential hopefuls made the mistake of listening to Twitter criticism of Obama that suggested he had not gone far left enough.

6:14 am ETJOE SCARBOROUGH: Robert Gibbs, let’s talk about what else we learned last night, something that you’ve known all along. Twitter does not represent the mainstream of the Democratic party. And there have been candidates over the past year-and-a-half that have freaked out when somebody posted something negative about them on Twitter. They should have just closed their phones, deleted the Twitter account, and listened to the voters.
Because Barack Obama actually was the target of attacks through the first two to three debates. I really do think, at the end of the day, that finished off more people’s campaign than anybody else. That somehow Barack Obama was a conservative sellout on health care reform, that somehow Barack Obama was a conservative sellout on immigration.
I even heard somebody last night on another network say, Barack Obama's the past. We don’t need to look to the past, we need to look to the future. Well, you know, after the last four years of Donald Trump, maybe we need to go back to square one with the Obama administration and then move forward from there, instead of trashing Barack Obama.
