Nasty! Claire McCaskill Paints GOP Sen. Perdue as Pathetic Trump Lackey

January 31st, 2020 6:39 PM

Having lost her Senate seat, has Democrat Claire McCaskill become embittered toward Senate Republicans?

Now an MSNBC analyst, McCaskill took an ugly shot at Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) during the 5:00 p.m. Eastern hour of MSNBC's live impeachment coverage Friday, painting him as a pathetic Trump lackey. Asked by Nicolle Wallace as to how tied Republican senators are to the White House, McCaskill said:

"You've got everything from David Perdue to Susan Collins. David Perdue, you know, if Trump said, you know, I want you to come tell me a bad joke every five minutes for five days, David Perdue would say, is it okay if I don’t sleep? You know, so, he is totally captured by Donald Trump, and there’s others like him."

That's the kind of thing that, had she not been beaten in her 2018 re-election bid and was still serving in the Senate, might have earned McCaskill sanctions under Senate Rule 19. But now that she's a private citizen, McCaskill is free to spill bile on her erstwhile colleagues, revealing her true character.

Note: you can hear notorious Trump-hater Nicolle Wallace snorting in amusement as McCaskill vilifies Perdue.
