MSNBC Democratic hack Andrea Mitchell absolutely lost it after Ranking Republican House Judiciary Committee member Jim Jordan began Tuesday’s hearing with Attorney General Bill Barr by playing a video montage of the media lying about violent far-left protests across the country. The so-called “news” anchor trashed the “very political and highly edited” video that called out many of her own colleagues at the left-wing cable channel.
As the congressional hearing began, in the 11:00 a.m. ET hour, Jordan addressed Barr: “I want to thank you for defending law enforcement, for pointing out what a crazy idea this defund the police policy, whatever you want to call it, is, and standing up for the rule of law.” The Congressman then introduced the video that so upset Mitchell: “And frankly, we have a video that we want to show that gets right to this point. Can we play that video, please?”
The montage that followed began with several “journalists,” entirely from MSNBC and CNN, denying reality and repeatedly claiming that violent leftist rioters were “peaceful protesters.” It started off with a particularly ludicrous clip of MSNBC anchor Ali Velshi claiming a Minneapolis riot was “not, generally speaking, unruly,” even as a building was engulfed in flames behind him. The montage went on for several more minutes, showing footage of the extreme violence that took place at many of the demonstrations.
Perhaps Congressman Jordan got his inspiration from NewsBusters. On June 2, research analyst Bill D’Agostino put together a similar montage of the media lying about the violence.
During a brief hearing break in the 12:00 p.m. ET hour, Mitchell came on to denounce the presentation: “Ranking Republican Jim Jordan showed a graphic, selectively edited, nearly eight minute montage of protests from around the country which he claimed were anything but peaceful. Including soundbites from Democrats Biden and Obama, clearly very political and highly edited.”
A few minutes later, she whined to justice correspondent Pete Williams: “Of course a lot of partisanship at congressional hearings, but this is one of the most political that I’ve seen on both sides.” Williams actually laughed as he began to dismiss her hyperbolic declaration: “Well, I don’t know, Andrea, I mean, they always tend to be a little bit this way. I think this is my eighth or ninth attorney general – ”
Clearly not liking what she was hearing, Mitchell cut him off to launch into another partisan rant:
Let me just say, Pete, that presenting – for Jim Jordan, the Ranking Republican, to present that video when the committee rules are that there should be 48 hours of warning and the selective editing of that video, with correspondents, former Vice President Biden, President Obama, Susan Rice, and others, all talking about peaceful protests out of context and then showing the most violent viral video that anyone has seen. All in one seven minute, forty-four second spurt, was pretty extraordinary.
Activists like Mitchell are so deep in the tank for the Democratic Party and its far-left base that they are terrified of the truth ever being heard. She cannot allow any dissent of the press narrative that enables the violent Marxist revolutionaries taking to the streets.
