NBC's Todd Worries Inflation Will Elect Republicans Like Kari Lake

October 30th, 2022 12:04 PM

On Sunday’s edition of NBC’s Meet the Press, anchor Chuck Todd openly fretted over the likely scenario that the pain and suffering of Americans from the rampant inflation caused by the Biden regime’s economic policies will cause voters to sweep Republicans like Kari Lake into office across the country. Todd posed his latest worry to New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu who didn’t take the bait and instead focused on what should be done in Congress next year to solve the mounting problems in the United States.

“Are you at all concerned though that maybe concern over inflation sweeps in a whole bunch of Republicans that define the party as a bunch of election denialists? Todd fretted to Sununu.

Displaying how after former President Donald Trump, Kari Lake is the one politician who triggers leftists like Todd, he asked Sununu if Kari Lake is “exhibit A.”

Letting Todd sit there and stew in his paranoia, Sununu simply addressed what should be done in Congress when Republicans win back Congress this year:

When those folks come in if Washington finally starts doing after decades of inaction, finally starts doing what they should be doing and saying okay what are our top priority issues, let's go after the biggest things, most critical things first. Knock those things off and there’s a whole list there. Right? Everything from inflation, it’s immigration reform, it’s securing the border, it’s healthcare reform.

Sununu went on to address recent political violence that has occurred and how elected officials in both parties should “know they can go down there and cast a vote in a secure and safe manner and not be influenced by violence or threats or anything like that.”

Concluding his answer to Todd, Sununu noted that the only way Congress can crack down on Biden’s inflationary policies and pull the economy out of the current economic recession is if we “bring in new people to Washington.”

CHUCK TODD: Are you at all concerned though that maybe concern over inflation sweeps in a whole bunch of Republicans that define the party as a bunch of election denialists? Kari Lake in Arizona being exhibit A?

GOVERNOR CHRIS SUNUNU: Well, look, again, when those folks come in, if Washington finally starts doing after decades of inaction, finally starts doing what they should be doing and saying okay what are our top priority issues, let's go after the biggest things, most critical things first. Knock those things off and there’s a whole list there. Right? Everything from inflation, it’s immigration reform, it’s securing the border, it’s healthcare reform.

All of these things that neither party has really taken on in the past six years like they should have and really putting those first and it doesn't mean you ignore what happened on January 6. You have to come to some sort of conclusion. I can tell you, just as a voter, as a guy in New Hampshire. I can't tell you what the results of the January 6 hearings are yet. I would like to know. I think everybody would like to know what changes are being made.

What else are we finding out that isn't just political but can help secure those individuals? Because as we elect these folks, to your original point that you opened up with. They have to know they can go down there and cast a vote in a secure and safe manner and not be influenced by violence or threats or anything like that. So that is all part of the mix. And the only way you are going to get there is by bringing in new people to Washington.
