ABC continued to prove that for the leftist media any criticism of them has some ulterior motive, during the “Powerhouse Roundtable” segment on Sunday’s This Week, co-host Jon Karl claimed that the GOP questioning Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson on her light sentences to child porn offenders was “a message to QAnon.”
During a tease for the upcoming panel, Karl claimed that the GOP Senator’s questions were “harsh and highly unusual” and asked “could the sharp questioning backfire” on the Republican Party in the upcoming midterm elections.
Later on in the show, during the panel segment, Karl turned to former Democratic National Committee chairwoman and current ABC News contributor Donna Brazile to ask for her take on the recently concluded confirmation hearings. Brazile wasn’t happy as you might imagine:
We were promised by Minority Leader McConnell that it would be a fair process. Free of rancor. And within 30 minutes or 60 minutes the first question on a scale of one to ten, tell me about your religion, your religious beliefs. There's no religious text. And then, of course the other one, define a woman. The best one was -- you know, for me to watch these proceedings, to quote Dr. King and then to turn Dr. King into somebody who's against the people who are still fighting for their dreams, it was pathetic.
Karl replied whining about the GOP Senator’s “focus on child pornography and pedophiles.” To which Brazile shot back “QAnon.”
Unsurprisingly, Karl agreed “it was a message to QAnon, wasn't it?” Arguing that “these are not major cases, these were sentencing decisions.”
National Review editor Ramesh Ponnuru interjected that he thought the whole controversy was overblown saying that “some Democrats found it in their interest to act as though those people represented the entire Republican Party.” When the truth of the matter is “the majority of the questioning was not only normal, but also kind of anti-climatic.”

KARL: And Donna, before we go, I gotta get your thoughts on the Ketanji Brown Jackson confirmation hearings.
DONNA BRAZILE: We were promised by Minority Leader McConnell that it would be a fair process.
KARL: But this focus on child pornography and pedophiles.
BRAZILE: QAnon
KARL: It was a message to QAnon, wasn't it? These are not major cases, these were sentencing decisions.
RAMESH PONNURU: We had a confirmation process where the conclusion that she's going to get confirmed was pretty much foregone by everybody. And so some Republicans, a few Republicans wanted to take some shots and make some political points. And some Democrats found it in their interest to act as though those people represented the entire Republican Party and that was what the entire confirmation hearing was about when in fact, the majority of the questioning was not only normal, but also kind of anti-climatic.
KARL: A majority? I mean there was a lot of questioning on pedophiles. Anyway we're out of time.
