Katy Perry not only knows how to sing about fireworks, but also how to create them – with crystals.
Comedian Chelsea Handler interviewed pop icon Katy Perry for Cosmopolitan’s July issue. When their conversation turned to frequency of sex, Perry revealed, “I carry a lot of rose quartz” to attract men. The 29-year-old Perry appeared on Cosmo’s cover in addition to the article.
Turning the interview’s focus to sex, Handler asked, “What’s the longest you’ve gone without sex?” Perry surmised, “Maybe six months or a year. I don’t stay single for long.” She continued, “I carry a lot of rose quartz, which attracts the male. Maybe I need to calm it down a bit with amethyst.”
Handler responded, “You know a lot more about crystals than I do.”
But Perry is an ordinary girl just like the rest of us, the Cosmo spread insisted. Handler’s subhead for the article insisted that while Perry has talent, “Give her a boyfriend and, well…okay, she battles the same insecurities we all have. Katy Perry, she’s just like us! – hangover, heartbreak, anxiety, and all.”
According to Hollywood gossip sites, Madonna first recommended the practice of crystal therapy to Perry for her broken heart after her split with John Mayer. Perry explained that to “maintain her health,” Madonna “had given me a number for a crystal healer.” “Everything stems from people's energy so it makes sense,” Perry reasoned. “I sleep with a rose quartz in my hand at night. It's supposed to help you find love and also heal your heart.”
Perry and Madonna also made headlines last month for a “bondage-themed photo shoot” published in V Magazine.
Perry isn’t one to keep her stances silent, surfacing as a staunch Obama supporter and gay marriage advocate in the past.
