The headline over at Fox News this last week told the tale:
Tony Bobulinski tells Tucker Carlson Joe Biden was 'chairman' of Hunter Biden's overseas business dealings
Fox’s Tucker Carlson — aka a real journalist — had scored another interview with one-time Biden family business associate Tony Bobulinski. And mysteriously?
Two days later the Washington Post soon appeared with its own Hunter Biden story, headlining this:
Federal agents see chargeable tax, gun-purchase case against Hunter Biden
The Post story reported this:
“Federal agents investigating President Biden’s son Hunter have gathered what they believe is sufficient evidence to charge him with tax crimes and a false statement related to a gun purchase, according to people familiar with the case.
…Agents determined months ago they had assembled a viable criminal case against the younger Biden. But it is ultimately up to prosecutors at the Justice Department, not agents, to decide whether to file charges in cases where prosecutors believe the evidence is strong enough to lead to a likely conviction at trial.”
And as noted here by Kevin Tober in NewsBusters that same two days later both the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News did the same reporting as the Washington Post. Imagine that! (Although, noteworthy as NewsBusters also reported, ABC skipped the story on Thursday, only to cover it on Friday morning.)
Yet it should be noted that this sudden flurry of liberal media attention to Hunter Biden followed two days after Tucker’s story aired, with Fox reporting this of Tucker’s story:
“Tony Bobulinski, a former business associate of Hunter Biden, believes Joe Biden essentially served as the ‘chairman’ and a ‘figurehead’ to his son’s overseas business dealings.
Bobulinski, a retired lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, is the former CEO of SinoHawk Holdings, which he has long said was a partnership between a Chinese energy firm and the Biden family. During an exclusive interview that will air Tuesday night on "Tucker Carlson Tonight," Bobulinski said he met with President Biden "multiple" times prior to the 2020 election to discuss his son’s business ventures.
‘There are hundreds of data points that Joe Biden was acting in – in a capitalistic term, I would say the chairman,’ Bobulinski told host Tucker Carlson."
Uh-oh. Reports on news of investigations involving Hunter Biden in The Washington Post, CBS and NBC? After Tucker Carlson’s Bobulinski sit-down?
One would be justified in thinking that maybe, just maybe, the liberal media Biden protection racket may finally be cracking.
The bottom line, as expressed this week by Fox’s Jesse Watters is clear: “This isn’t a Hunter Biden story,” said Jesse. “This is a Joe Biden story.”
Bingo.
The bottom line of what Tucker Carlson is reporting from Tony Bobulinski this week is that the President of the United States has - for years - been running the equivalent of an off-the-books family crime business. This is exactly what was the gist of the front page story reported on by The New York Post in October of 2020 when it exploded the tale of what the paper’s Miranda Devine would soon call Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell.”
Recall The Post’s headline at the time on this story reported by the paper’s Emma-Jo Morris and Gabrielle Fonrouge:
Smoking-gun email reveals how Hunter Biden introduced Ukrainian businessman to VP dad
Which is to say, the laptop indicated Joe Biden had gone about selling his office as then-Vice President of the United States — for profit. He was, it appeared, the mysterious “Big Guy” referred to on the laptop — a Big Guy who was getting a percentage of Hunter’s dealings that were had in the first place because of the “Big Guy’s” connections on the international scene.
The laptop’s contents were instantly either dismissed as Russian disinformation (by 50 US “intelligence” officials) or, importantly, ignored outright by the liberal media, if not censored into silence by Big Tech types at Twitter and Facebook.
It wasn’t until March of 2022 - two years after the New York Post broke the story - that the Washington Post finally admitted the laptop was the real thing and headlined:

And here’s how The New York Times, deep -very deep - into an April, 2022 story on Hunter’s tax troubles, finally admitted the laptop was legitimate. Said the Times:
“Those emails were obtained by The New York Times from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop. The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.”
Jesse Watters said this week that he is now hearing a rush of stories about “whistleblowers” possibly coming out publicly about the Biden family dealings. He notes that if Republicans win control of the House in the November elections they will begin investigations of Biden’s activities, calling Biden family associates for public testimony “under oath on live television.”
Notably Jesse says this:
“They (the Bidens) are not going to be able to stop this. CNN, MSNBC - they will be seeing this evidence.”
What this last week’s Washington Post story on a possible FBI charging of Hunter Biden signals - not to mention the mentions on CBS and NBC - is that the liberal media can no longer ignore the Biden family scandals. Add in the debut of the Breitbart film My Son Hunter and Sean Hannity’s repeated labelling of “No Experience Hunter.” And finally, something had to give.
Until now, the liberal media, along with Big Tech, has long gone out of their way to shield Joe Biden. Usually by refusing to investigate the Bidens on their own or censoring stories as Twitter and Facebook did with the NY Post Hunter Biden laptop story.
What Tucker Carlson has done with this new round of Bobulinski reporting is drive a sledgehammer to the liberal media wall of silence, forcing a crack in that wall.
In combination with a GOP House takeover and resulting televised investigations, the “mainstream media” will no longer be able to ignore or hide what has been going on in Biden land — and going on, apparently, for decades.
