Don Lemon – along with anti-ICE protestors – invaded a St. Paul, MN church that the former CNN anchor later insulted as full of white supremacists.
Lemon’s subsequent arrest enraged his cronies in the leftist media, with the likes of his old CNN buddy Jim Acosta blaring that this was Donald Trump “trying to criminalize journalism.”
Before Lemon’s arrest, he and his ilk had spent an entire month attacking ICE agents. The elitist media nastily depicted them as murderous “Nazis” and Trump’s personal “Gestapo” that had disappeared people like the old Soviet Union.
This past month also saw lefty celebrities like actors Mark Ruffalo and Giancarlo Esposito call for “revolution” from their privileged places on the Red Carpet. At the Grammys, singer Billie Eilish cursed ICE from the podium. Bruce Springsteen actually penned an anti-Trump ballad.
The following are the most obnoxious outbursts from leftist journalists and celebrities over the last month:

“There is a certain degree of racism there and there’s a certain degree of entitlement. I think people who are, you know, in the religious groups like that, it’s not the type of Christianity that I practice, but I think that they’re entitled and that — that entitlement comes from a supremacy, a white supremacy…It’s religious freedom, but only if you’re a Christian and only if you’re a white male.”

“That is one of those white evangelical churches that turn out to vote for Donald Trump, 80 plus percent of that sect of Christianity….These are the people who feel like America is for Americans and Americans only. These are white nationalists, and the DOJ got their panties in a wad because these protesters went straight to them and addressed their hypocrisy. You, a gay black journalist, are – I mean, prime bait for them to drum up these charges.”
— Host Jennifer Welch to former CNN anchor Don Lemon on the I’ve Had It podcast, January 19.

“We’ve now reached the arresting journalists phase of Donald Trump’s authoritarian project in America. And we just have to push back on this with all our might….This is a direct attack on the First Amendment. It’s a direct attack on free speech in this country. He’s [Donald Trump] trying to criminalize journalism….And this is dictator stuff. This is dangerous dictator stuff.”

“F**k off, ICE! F**k all the way off! You are low-life losers. And you feel empowered by your dear leader, Donald Trump….You are treating people in an inhumane way and you don’t even understand why because you’re too dumb to figure it out. You are the poorly educated that Donald Trump loves….You’re out there doing his bidding, doing things that are illegal, doing things that are unconstitutional, doing things that are inhumane, like killing someone….You are fat fuck losers who just crawled out of a trailer park from some Proud Boy meeting….You are thugs, jack-booted thugs….You stupid, dumb, ignorant, poorly educated, Proud Boys, Nazis marching through.”

Jim Acosta: If ICE Can “Murder” a Citizen, We’ve Become a “Putin-Like Thugocracy”
“ICE has gotten to a point, I mean, take a look at what happened in Minneapolis. If we have a situation in this country where the government can go out and murder a U.S. citizen with no – without any investigation that is credible, then we’ve become a Putin-like thugocracy.”

“This is Trump’s terrorism. This is the Kent State of our time. The peaceful, unarmed protestor murdered by Trump’s ICE. While Trump’s lie-factory and Trump personally smeared her, blamed her. Made up a story or a threat where there was no threat. Altered images, lied about her, lied about what the Gestapo did. The Gestapo they sent to kill Americans in American cities, in order to make videos to feed the sadistic, blood-lusting psychotics who support Trump. And if you support this, if you support Trump, if you countenance this on our streets against citizens or non-citizens or police or anybody, you are a sadistic blood-lusting psychotic! That is Donald Trump’s base!”
— Former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann on his Countdown podcast, January 8.
...Alex Pretti Was “Murdered” By ICE “Terrorists” as a Warning to Not Thwart “Trump Dictatorship”
“The Trump dictatorship and its terrorists, the paramilitary organization, the ‘Proud ICE Boys’ death squad, they murdered Alex Pretti, as a warning. That this is what they will continue to do if local leaders, like Minnesota’s governor, do not stop thwarting the Trump dictatorship….Support Trump or we will, well we will keep shooting your residents. Comply or your people will die.”

Host Jake Tapper: “So you have an issue with the First Amendment. You don’t think that people should be exercising their First Amendment rights to speak about policies that they don’t like. You have a more of a problem with that than you have with people killing American citizens. Did I get that right?”
Former Trump official Chad Mizelle: “Jake, do you actually think you have a First Amendment right to blow a whistle in the ear of law enforcement, to disobey a lawful command from law enforcement, to interfere with a law enforcement investigation, to carry a gun without a proper ID or license as is required under Minnesota law, and then to violently resist arrest? You think you have a First Amendment right to do all that, Jake?
Tapper: So you think that he should have been killed? It was all his fault?
— Exchange on CNN’s The Lead, January 26.
Kristen Welker to Tom Homan: How Do You Justify Policy That Is Making So Many People “Feel Less Safe?”
“There have been nine ICE-involved shootings in September. By one count, ICE has detained 170 U.S. citizens. People across this country….are out protesting ICE’s actions. How do you justify an enforcement strategy that is making so many people feel less safe?”

Norah O’Donnell Blames Opposition Leader for Iranian Deaths
“And as you are urging people to protest and go to the streets, the death toll is rising in Iran. This violent crackdown continues just as it has in past attempted revolutions. I mean, is it responsible to be sending citizens in Iran to their deaths? Do you bear some responsibility?”
— Former CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell to exiled crown prince of Iran Reza Pahlavi on CBS News 24/7, January 12.
Joe Scarborough: ICE Arrests Reminiscent of Soviet Union
“I see these people being dragged in the street. I see masked people coming up demanding papers. I see a guy sitting in a gas station parking lot, and ICE officers breaking the window and then dragging him out and putting their knee on his back….This looks like Russia. It really does. This looks like something that you would expect in Russia. That protesters—this is happening to protesters, not suspected murderers or rapists. This is what America looks like in 2025 for protesters. We always looked at what happened to the Soviet Union and looked at what happened in Putin’s Russia and saw this happening to protesters there being taken off the streets, thinking, ‘My god, how could that ever happen in society?’ And I’d always ask, how could those Russian police officers do that? Well, we’ve got people lined up for this job to put masks on, to go in, to break people’s windows, drag them out of their cars, beat up American citizens, shove them to the ground, and then cuff them.”
— Host Joe Scarborough on MSNOW’s Morning Joe, January 14.
ICE Recruitment Posters “Akin” to “Nazi Germany” Era
Host Audie Cornish: “Can you talk about the recruitment drive? We’ve been seeing all kinds of posters for this at events. ICE has mapped out a basically $100 million wartime recruitment. And that’s even involved geo-targeted ads to specific places. But the tone and tenor of the ads and memes themselves, I think are kind of revealing. What do you see?
Former Politico Editor Garrett Graff: “Yeah, we’ve seen some very strong white supremacist imagery, you know, akin to what you saw in Nazi Germany in recruitment ads from that era.”
Cornish: “What do you mean by that?”
Graff: “Well, we’ve seen this sort of defend the homeland slogan that they’ve used with depicting sort of an idealized white suburban lifestyle that somehow is being overrun by brown and black hordes of criminal migrants.”

“I was reading something the other day about World War II. When the Americans liberated Dachau, after World War II during the Holocaust – after the Holocaust, Dwight D. Eisenhower said take pictures of these concentration camps because years will go by and people will not believe this happened. So, this administration does not really like somebody like Don Lemon who has a camera, who has a position - like we do in a way - to speak to the people and tell them what really is going on. So, you know, God bless Dwight D. Eisenhower and Don Lemon.”

Sunny Hostin’s Crazy Conspiracy Theory
“I actually think that this is a coordinated effort to steal the 2026 election – elections….Remember what happened in Minnesota with [Alex] Pretti and [Renee] Good. Pam Bondi sent a letter to the governor, to Minnesota, and said that they would withdraw ICE agents if they provided all of their voter data.”
— Co-host Sunny Hostin on ABC’s The View, January 30.

— Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) January 28, 2026
“Alex Pretti’s death is such a horrible tragedy, but for some reason his death has shifted America's response to what is happening to Minnesota. And it reminds me - and I think, Whoopi, you and I have talked about this - it reminds me of Mississippi Burning during the civil rights movement; when the FBI refused to open up an office in Mississippi to investigate all of the murders of civil rights workers.”
— Co-host Sunny Hostin on ABC’s The View, January 28.
Joy Behar: We Are In A “Dictatorship In the Making”
“Are we in the middle of fascist America?...Just this last week I’m just going to give you a summary of what we’ve been through. One week..Pete Hegseth started an illegal war for oil in Venezuela, Stephen Miller threatened a military takeover of Greenland, RFK Jr. slashed childhood vaccine recommendations, and ICE shot and killed a United States citizen in Minneapolis. That sort of adds up, to me, like a dictatorship in the making. That we are now in it.”
— Co-host Joy Behar on ABC’s The View, January 8.

— Co-host Sunny Hostin on ABC’s The View, January 5.
Whoopi Goldberg: “The Violent Criminals” Seem to Be in ICE Agency...
“Nobody wants this. This is not what you said they were going to be. This is the thing, you said you were going after the bad guys. That’s what you said, the violent criminals. And what does it turn out? The violent criminals seem to be in the [ICE] agency.”

ICE Agents “Led to the Darkness” By Trump, At Least Nazis Showed “Their Faces”
Host Stephen Colbert: “The only way they [ICE agents] could ever be considered in any way victims is that they are, at best, weak-minded individuals, full of anger, who have been led to the darkness by Donald Trump and are now participating in an evil system that will stick to them like hot black tar for the rest of their lives.”...
Clip of Greg Bovino: “Look, Dana, they’re trying to portray Border Patrol agents and ICE agents as Gestapo, Nazi, and many other words.”
Colbert: “Yes, do not compare ICE or Border Patrol agents to the Nazis. That’s an unfair comparison. The Nazis were willing to show their faces.”

An ICE agent today shot and killed an unarmed 37-year-old woman during an ICE operation in Minneapolis, who were there under the guise of protecting us….Now that is the shirt I want to see, to ICE, ‘Get the [bleep] out of Minneapolis.” Get the [bleep] out of all these cities.”

“So the Trump administration wonders why people are saying that they are trying to form a dictatorship? Well, look at the landscape. Arresting Don Lemon - who covered a protest in Minneapolis - is just insane, ridiculous, dictator-like. This is the playbook that dictators use to destroy democracies and take the will of the people away….Neville Chamberlain should have saw it coming and he didn’t. And we don’t want to be in that position. So, wise up everybody.”

“You know some very rich, old, white men are exerting their power to suppress our own people, thus creating a feeling of civil war in the streets, preparing the hate - the haters to hate, teaching them how to shoot. They’re not even trained right. To kill. This is all in preparation for a very insidious problem that is happening in our world. And for me, I have to speak out that we will not be iced out. This is not going to happen. They can’t take us all down. If the whole world showed up on Putin’s doorstep or on the Iranians’ doorstep or in Washington….they’ll kill 500 or 50 million or however [many], but the rest of us would survive with a new [world]. This is a time for a revolution.”

“As grateful as I feel, I honestly don’t feel like I need to say anything but that no one is illegal on stolen land. And, yeah, it’s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now, and I feel really hopeful in this room, and I feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting, and our voices really do matter, and the people matter. And F*ck ICE. That’s all I’m going to say.”
— Singer Billie Eilish accepting award at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, February 1.
Mark Ruffalo: Renee Nicole Good Was “Murdered” By “Pedophile” Trump’s ICE Agents
“This is for Renee Nicole Good who was murdered….We have a vice president who’s lying about what’s happening….We’re in the middle of a war with Venezuela that we illegally invaded. He’s telling the world that international law doesn’t matter to him. The only thing that matters to him is his own morality. But the guy is a convicted felon or a convicted rapist. He’s a pedophile. He’s the worst human being. If we’re relying on this guy’s morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we are in a lot of trouble. So this [points to lapel pin] is for her [Good], this is for the people who are the people in the United States who are terrorized and scared today. I know I’m one of them.”
— Actor Mark Ruffalo being interviewed by USA Today on the Golden Globes red carpet, January 11.
Bruce Springsteen’s Anti-Trump Ballad
Through the winter’s ice and cold
Down Nicollet Avenue
A city aflame fought fire and ice
‘Neath an occupier’s boots
King Trump’s private army from the DHS
Guns belted to their coats
Came to Minneapolis to enforce the law
Or so their story goes
...
Now they say they’re here to uphold the law
But they trample on our rights
If your skin is black or brown my friend
You can be questioned or deported on sight
— Lyrics to Bruce Springsteen’s “Streets Of Minneapolis,” released on January 28.
