It was a challenging task but an esteemed panel of NewsBusters editors led by MRC President L.Brent Bozell and MRC’s Vice President for Research and Publications Brent Baker boiled down all the biased outbursts from lefty hack hosts, anchors, reporters and pundits in 2024 and on December 18 announced The Brian Stelter Award for Quote of the Year.
Of course, every year there is way too much bias for just one category. So Baker led a panel of NewsBusters editors to break down the Worst of 2024 into eight additional categories (The Craziest Analysis Award; The Trashing Trump Award; The Damn Those Conservatives Award; The Joy of Hate Award for Joy Reid Rants; The Praising and Protecting Old Joe Award; Carrying Kamala’s Water Award for Helping Harris; The Cursing the Conservative Court Award and the Celebrity Freak-Outs Award).
Today we present the WORST OF 2024: The Joy of Hate Award for Joy Reid Rants.

“What Donald Trump is doing….it’s kind of David Koresh. It’s kind of Jim Jones. Because those two men started by saying, ‘You need to come to Jesus.’ They started as Christian evangelizers. But eventually, their evangelism said, ‘No, I get to have your wife. No actually, I get to tell you to kill these federal agents that are outside. “Trump won every age group of men, including 60 percent of Gen X men and 6 in 10 white men. Also Latino men, who despite the utter disrespect shown by Trump and his promise to deport some of your mixed class — mixed status families, most of them voted in a 55 percent majority to make the deportations happen. Y’all voted with Steven Miller and David Duke and against your own sisters and chose Kamala — who chose Kamala Harris, with 60 percent of their votes. So you own everything that happens to your mixed status families and to your wives, sisters, and abuelas from here on in.”

“The first person to actually criminally prosecute Donald Trump is a black Harvard grad....He came out and graduated and he’s prosecuting you, Donald. And a black woman is doing the same exact thing in Georgia.
