On Wednesday's Today show, the co-hosts of the 10am hour, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, invited on David Mizejewski of the Wildlife Federation to participate in that talk-show time honored tradition of the animal segment but viewers couldn't enjoy the cuddly creatures without getting a dose of global warming alarmism. As the camera closed-in on the eyes of the Arctic fox that he was trying to control, Mizejewski preached to the Today audience: "If anybody needs a reason to care about global warming it's animals like this, they are threatened by the Arctic warming up."
The following moment of climate change propaganda was aired on the December 16, Today show:
KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: And now to "Today's Call of the Wild." It's a great time of the year to work off some of those extra calories, get some fresh air, maybe even spot some wildlife.
HODA KOTB: Maybe. David Mizejewski from the Wildlife Federation is here with some of the potentially, I guess dangerous posse you got with you this time.
GIFFORD: This one doesn't look so dangerous.
MIZEJEWSKI: This one isn't really dangerous. This is an Arctic Fox and she's totally beautiful. She's not gonna turn-
GIFFORD: She really is, she's a little on, she's a little-
KOTB: Scared.
MIZEJEWSKI: Yeah she's a little, she's a little bit on the skittish side.
GIFFORD: Yeah but she's sweet.
MIZEJEWSKI: But look at how-
GIFFORD: She's stuck on your microphone Dave.
MIZEJEWSKI: Whoops. Here we go.
KOTB: Yeah.
MIZEJEWSKI: Animals never cooperate. So, I'm gonna try to do this. She-
GIFFORD: Now will she bite?
MIZEJEWSKI: She's got this beautiful white coat. This helps her be adapted to life in the Arctic. And if anybody needs a reason to care about global warming it's animals like this, they are threatened by the Arctic warming up. Animals all over the world, not just Arctic animals. And you know it's why National Wildlife Federation fights so hard to find solutions to global warming.
