Speaking exclusively Wednesday afternoon in the White House to The Daily Caller’s Benny Johnson and Saagar Enjeti, President Trumps sounded off on the antics of CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta and CNN’s lawsuit in federal court to get his White House credentials back after they were revoked on November 7.
Trump told them that he wasn’t sure how the case would pan out, but blasted Acosta as someone who’s “just an average guy” who routinely grandstands and is “bad for the country” because he “stand[s] up and shout[s].”
Of course, Acosta has a track record of doing that to not just the President, but Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, predecessor Sean Spicer, and other members of the administration at White House Press Briefings.
“Jim Acosta is just somebody who gets up and grandstands, he doesn’t even know what he’s asking you half of the time,” the President added, insisting that Acosta “was very rude to the young lady” when the two tussled on November 7 during a White House Press Conference.
A hearing into CNN’s lawsuit against the Secret Service and White House took place on Wednesday. A ruling was expected to come down on Thursday afternoon.
