Appearing as a guest on Friday's Tucker Carlson Tonight on FNC to promote his film on the trial of infamous abortion doctor and convicted murderer Kermit Gosnell, actor Dean Cain not only recounted the challenges he faced in producing and advertising the film, but he also called out the double standard employed by liberals on issues of sexual assault.
Carlson began the segment by showing viewers a recent video produced by a number of Hollywood liberals speaking out against U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, and then asked Cain for his reaction. The veteran actor pointed out that the same liberals had no such response to assault accusations against former President Bill Clinton or more recently against DNC deputy chair Keith Ellison. Cain:
Where's the video for Karen Monahan, you know, Keith Ellison's accuser? Where's the full-length movie for the Clinton accusers? It just doesn't exist. It's completely political. And that's kind of tragic because sexual assault is a very serious -- very serious thing, and it kind of cheapens it because they're doing this specifically for political reasons.
He soon discussed his film, Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer, and recounted that he had difficulty getting funding, and then had hassles trying to distribute and advertise the movie which comes out October 12. Cain:
Nobody would put it out there -- nobody would distribute it, so we finally found distribution. So, two years ago, we finished the film -- now, we can tell the story -- and it's because it deals with abortion. We couldn't even buy ad time on NPR because we called him an 'abortion doctor.' We had to just call him a 'doctor.' So nobody wants to touch it.
He also noted that he considers himself "pro-choice" when it comes to the earlier stages of pregnancy, but opposes late-term abortion and believes his film is important for people to see.
