Radio host Charlamagne Tha God stopped by Comedy Central and The Daily Show on Tuesday for one of his irregularly scheduled “In My Opinion” segments. Charlamagne would not only allege that President Trump is losing his mind in a Biden-esque manner but also diagnose him with dementia and say the ideal solution would be to put him in a retirement home run by former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who infamously required nursing homes to accept elderly patients who still had COVID.
According to Charlamagne, Trump is exhibiting all the signs of dementia, including anger, “I don't get why Trump chose YMCA as his signature song. That dance involves coordination and spelling at the same time. Are you trying to kill this man? Another prominent symptom of dementia is agitation. Let's see the cool head of our president.”
In a montage of five clips, Trump could be seen calling reporters’ questions “stupid” or “nasty,” calling various media outlets “scum” and “bad people” for doubting the success of the B-2 strikes on Iran—although that context was left out, as was the fact that Trump was mostly proved correct on the success of the mission—and calling NBC White House correspondent Peter Alexander “a terrible reporter” and telling him, “You ought to be ashamed of yourself.”
Charlamagne responded, “Okay. Well, the bad news is Trump has rage issues. The good news is, there's no way he's remembering the nuclear codes, okay. Now that's my whole checklist, and I've reached my diagnosis: this guy needs to be put into a retirement home immediately, okay? And hopefully it's one run by Andrew Cuomo, alright.”
After Trump was nearly killed, Charlamagne’s natural instinct was to blame the victim and claim that Trump’s rhetoric had made the political climate “not even safe for him.”
The main point of Charlamagne’s segment was to point out that Republicans reasonably called out Biden’s decline but won’t do the same for their guy and to also allege that the media is dropping the ball, once again, on a president’s mental decline. However, no Republican ever wished that Biden be put in an Andrew Cuomo-run retirement home with all the implied consequences that would bring.
