On Thursday's Ayman Mohyeldin Reports, the MSNBC show's namesake host continued his colleagues' tradition of inviting anti-Semites to discuss the developments in Israel and Gaza. This time, Mohyeldin welcomed BDS co-founder Omar Barghouti to justify his movement, which is widely considered to be anti-Semitic, and to unwittingly show why peace Israeli-Palestinian peace will not happen any time soon.
Mohyeldin, who previously labeled Bernie Sanders as a "centrist" on this issue, simply gave Barghouti the floor, "tell us what it is your movement is calling for and what solution is it that you seek."
Barghouti replied by attempting to cloak to the movement in woke terms, "The Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions as a non-violent, ant-racist movement calls for ending complicity so Palestinians can achieve an end to Israeli occupation, an end to Israel apartheid which is today recognized by Human Rights Watch, by Israel’s largest human rights organization, B’Tselem."
Well, if HRW says so, it must be true. Barghouti added, "and the right of Palestinian refugees to return as they constitute the biggest majority of Palestinians."
Barghouti was referencing the so-called "right of return," the "right" that would allow Palestinians who were displaced (more accurately: their descendants) by the 1948 war to return to the homes of their ancestors. But, such a tremendous influx of non-Jews into the Jewish State would obviously destroy Israel's national identity.
Still, Barghouti portrayed himself and his movement simply concerned with human rights:
The first and foremost demand is ending complicity. The United States government is complicit through military funding, academic institutions, social institutions, funds, investment funds are also complicit when they invest in companies that are enabling the occupation, the house demolition and so on. So, we're calling for ending complicity so that Palestinians can achieve our rights under international law, and nothing beyond that: the end the occupation, end to apartheid, and the right of refugees.
Regarding the military funding, Mohyeldin certainly agrees as he has previously accused Israel of using that funding to kill "innocent Palestinian men, women and children."
Later in the segment Barghouti doubled down, and refused to say that Israel has a right to exist and that he is simply calling for, "an end of [Israel's] denial of refugee rights... are an absolute necessity to achieve a just peace, freedom, justice, and equality of Palestinians."
What about a just peace and freedom for Israelis?

AYMAN MOHYELDIN: Joining me now is Omar Barghouti, co-founder of the BDS movement for Palestinian rights and committee member of the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel. Omar, thank you so much for your time, we greatly appreciate it. As briefly as you can, tell us what it is your movement is calling for and what solution is it that you seek.
OMAR BARGHOUTI: Thank you very much for having me. The Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions as a non-violent, ant-racist movement calls for ending complicity so Palestinians can achieve an end to Israeli occupation, an end to Israel apartheid which is today recognized by Human Rights Watch, by Israel’s largest human rights organization, B’Tselem and the right of Palestinian refugees to return as they constitute the biggest majority of Palestinians.
