Van Jones Can't Help But Defend Bill Clinton

Tuesday, while appearing on CNN’s Cuomo Prime Time, left-wing political commentator and weekend host Van Jones lept to the defense of Bill Clinton, as the former President embarrassed himself yet again.

In an interview with PBS while on his current book tour, Clinton said this:

“I think the norms have really changed in terms of what you can do to somebody against their will, how much you can crowd their space, make them miserable at work. You don't have to physically assault somebody to make them, you know, uncomfortable at work or at home or in their other -- just walking around. That, I think, is good.”

It was remarkable to see that even anchor Chris Cuomo found these comments indefensible, and gave Jones the opportunity to disavow. Jones attempted to excuse the controversial remarks, however, saying that “you can tell [Clinton’s] heart is in the right place.” Jones chalked up Clinton’s remarks to old age:

“He's really trying to make the case, but the word choice is just not proper. And so, I hate to see the guy get beat up, he could just be at that stage of his aging process where maybe he just can't be as precise as we need him to be.”

Cuomo moved on to question whether or not the Clintons need to be replaced as the political leaders of the left. He further admitted that there was a “propping up of the Clintons by the left.” Cuomo then turned to Dave Urban, CNN Political Commentator, for his take on the Democrats' need to find new leading figures. Urban replied:

“Right. So, that tape, I don't need to say anything about it. Your viewers, everyone watching, they saw it, they heard it, they know what he's saying, they know what he's trying to say, they know what he didn't say.”

Hopefully, the average CNN viewer really does know what Clinton was saying, and why it’s inexcusable.
