MRC president appeared Friday afternoon on the Fox Business show Varney & Co. and said this about campaign 2016 coverage: “Buy some popcorn! This is going to be the most fascinating...campaign season in years!”
Bozell said he can see both sides of the media coverage, “how the media are going to her best friend and her worst enemy.” Fox host Stuart Varney asked how they could be her worst enemy?
BOZELL: She is a second time candidate but second time candidates never have the enthusiasm of first-time candidates.
Second, the camera projects her old, sullen, and bitter. Look at what happened to her on her book tour. The more you saw her, the less you liked her.
Third, she is hiding from the press because she wants to be so controlled in her message, and when that happens, inevitably, that’s going to get somebody in the media very angry with you.
Fourth, scandals and her record – it will come out because Republicans will attack her. You’ve already seen this undercurrent in some of the coverage – how Republicans are going to hit her on Benghazi, how Republicans are going to hit her on the state of the world.
Now, let's look at the positive. Scandalsnd controversies – the media’s not going to cover it on their own. They aren’t going to investigative Benghazi, like they haven’t. They dropped the whole e-mail scandal. They’re not going to look into her at all.
Bozell predicted Hillary will tack left, and the more she does, “the more she’ll find friends in the media.”
