Trump Derangement Syndrome reached new levels over at Univision News, as anchors at the Spanish-speaking network assaulted their viewers with a collusive report about a pro-Biden poll released by Latino Decisions, complete with a lingering on-screen photo of President Donald Trump identified as … Joe Biden!
That blunder, however, pales in comparison to the fact that viewers of Univision’s Despierta America and the network’s midday newscast (Edición Digital), were kept in the dark about the pollster -Latino Decisions- being part of the Biden campaign’s $1 million outreach program to lure Latino voters. After trying to disguise the report as one about a poll measuring “President Donald Trump’s handling of the coronavirus”, the anchors quickly revealed their true intentions: to push a Biden campaign poll on Latino voters that shows a 42-point lead favoring the former Vice President.
SATCHA PRETTO: Two out of three Hispanics plan on voting for Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
...
And Albert... What does the poll show if the elections were today, who would Hispanic voters support?
...
If the elections were today, 66% of the Latino vote at the national level would favor the Vice President.

CAROLINA SARASSA: Now, how are the polls going? Just weeks away from the elections, they are pretty tight. But when we talk about the Hispanic vote, things are different. Joe Biden outperforms President Trump in the intention of the Hispanic vote, by a margin of 42%, according to a Somos Unidos poll launched by Latino Decisions. Biden has 66% of Hispanic voter support against Trump's 24%. A remarkable 10 percent is still undecided.
To validate the polls´ findings, Despierta America interviewed activist Albert Morales, President of Latino Decisions, who conducted the poll for healthcare nonprofit Somos NYC and for UnidosUS, the organization formerly known as the National Council of La Raza, which has endorsed Biden for president.
At first, Morales explained that it was “the third poll in a series that began in April, in order to better understand how covid was affecting Latinos in the United States, before the media and, frankly, the government, began to understand the impact of the coronavirus on our community.”
According to Morales, the poll data has been used to advocate for change, “as it is so important, with Congress, governors, mayors, etc. This new survey focused on school reopenings and how in-person attendance versus at-home instruction affects Latino families.”
End of topic one. Here, Morales moved on to the real beef, politics: “This poll also included states where the presidential election will be won or lost with the Latino vote. States like Pennsylvania, North Carolina, each with more than 500,000 Latino voters, as well as Wisconsin. I believe that Arizona, Florida, Colorado, Texas, California and New York were also included. Regarding the presidential election; 70% of Latinos disapprove of the President's handling of covid. In May, only 56% disapproved of his job.”
No mention of Latino Decisions being Biden’s Latino pollster here.
No disclosure at the network´s noon edition either, where anchor Carolina Sarassa boasted that “Joe Biden outperforms President Trump in the intention of the Hispanic vote, by a margin of 42%, according to a Somos Unidos poll launched by Latino Decisions.”
National advertisers like Jeep continue to enable the bias like this in the news. Let them know how you feel about it - write them today!

Despierta America
SATCHA PRETTO: Two out of three Hispanics plan on voting for Democratic candidate Joe Biden. And 70% of the voters in our community disapprove of President Donald Trump´s handling of the coronavirus. These are the findings of a revealing survey conducted by Latino Decisions, based in the state of Washington, and with whose political director we speak this morning. Alberto Morales, thank you for everything. Albert Morales…How are you?
ALBERT MORALES: Good morning Satcha, thank you for inviting me.
PRETTO: Well, first let's talk, obviously, about what this poll reveals regarding the response provided by President Donald Trump and how the Latino community in the country interprets it. What do the numbers show?
MORALES: Well, this is the third poll in a series that began in April, in order to better understand how covid was affecting Latinos in the United States, before the media and, frankly, the government, began to understand the impact of the coronavirus on our community. It was thanks to attorney Henry Muñoz and Dr. Ramon Tallaj, of Somos Community Care, a chain of clinics out of New York, who alerted us to what went on at the clinics, and they took the initiative to contact us to start polling Latinos. And thanks to that leadership and to Mr. Muñoz, we were able to continue to track the damage that covid has done within our community. Since then, they have used that data to advocate for change, as it is so important, with Congress, governors, mayors, etc. This new survey focused on school reopenings and how in-person attendance versus at-home instruction affects Latino families. This poll also included states where the presidential election will be won or lost with the Latino vote. In May, only 56% disapproved of his job.
PRETTO: And Albert... What does the poll show if the elections were today, who would Hispanic voters support?
MORALES: 77% of Latinos support President... Sorry... 77% of Latinos support a national face mask mandate. 69% of Latinos tell us that they will definitely vote in November and if the elections were today, 66% of the Latino vote at the national level would favor the Vice President. Meanwhile 24% favor Trump. In other words, a 42-point margin. In May, Biden only had the support of 61% of Latino voters, so there is an increase in his favor.
PRETTO: Obviously, these statistics are being revealed just in time for the Democratic National Convention, and we will see if they are actually reflected in the presidential elections of November, since in the past we have seen that polls, obviously not by Latino Decisions, but yes, in general in the past- since in the 2016 elections the polls did not reflect what actually happened. Thank you Mr. Alberto Morales, from Latino Decisions, for joining us this morning on Despierta América.

Hispanics share national concerns about the issue of school reopenings in the midst of this pandemic. One in three Latinos, that is to say about 36%, are concerned about not having an adult to leave their children with if virtual teaching is upheld. And almost one in three, or 34%, say they've suffered a cut in working hours or of their pay, due to this pandemic.
