Telemundo Has a Sad Over New DACA Procedures

July 30th, 2020 11:24 AM

The Hispanic liberal media is having a collective fit over an announcement made by President Donald Trump regarding the hot-potato, Obama-era program known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA. In just less than 24 hours, Telemundo and Univision spent a combined 20 minutes reporting the subject, bumping Attorney General William Barr´s “hearing” at the House Judiciary Committee to the sidelines.

All the hoopla was about the words pronounced by the President regarding DACA and the 644,000 immigrants enrolled in it known as “DREAMers”, that added up to: “We are going to make DACA happy and the DACA people and representatives happy, and we're also going to end up with a fantastic merit-based immigration system.” To support their panic, both news networks brought in a roster of activists and “dreamers” (more activists) - nine (9), to be exact- and not one, zero, officials from the Trump administration or any source to explain the issue with a different perspective from that of the leftist PACs-with-a broadcast-license.

The most biased report covering the issue, however, was Telemundo News’ interview with their in-house immigration lawyer, Alma Rosa Nieto, who in addition to stating that with Trump, “the executive government is going to be president, Congress, and the Supreme Court”, endorsed a Democrat win in November.

Take a look the report:

JOSE DIAZ BALART: Is the administration contradicting the Supreme Court order?

ALMA ROSA NIETO: That's right. The highest court in the nation this president tells them, "I'm not interested, I'm going to make my own laws." That is, the executive government is going to be president, congress, and the supreme court.

DIAZ-BALART: Doctor, Is there an alternative for dreamers right now?

NIETO: They have to continue to get ready, not lose faith, nor hope and ask for a lot of documentation for when they give us the green light these first-timers are ready to activate their application. And, if there is a change of administration, something permanent is going to come for the dreamers.

All that was missing from the set, were the pom-poms and a Biden 2020 banner.

Creating confusion and feeding their audiences with half-truths are the standard deal at the Latino liberal news networks whose very existence depends on a regular flow of immigrants arriving – legally or illegally to the nation. Their reporting on the new DACA development underscores what comes across as desperation to keep their viewers ignorant of both sides of a story in the name of their political agendas.

Let advertisers like Taco Bell know about the bias in Hispanic news that they enable. Together we can all make a difference.

JOSÉ DÍAZ-BALART: There are many legal questions about the implications of this decision, that is why the expert immigration attorney, Alma Rosa Nieto, is here today. Doctor, what are the implications of today´s announcement?

ALMA ROSA NIETO: It implies what they dreamed of 40 days ago, of being able to apply for the first time, for more than 300,000 young dreamers, who will not be able to do it now for a limited time, let's hope, because there will surely be a lawsuit that contradicts what this administration says. So

DíAZ-BALART: Doctor, What happens with those that already renewed DACA for two years?

NIETO: Fortunately, it will not be retroactive, according to the memorandum I read this morning, how xxxx you already have two years of permission, those who already have a 60-day permission to enter and re-enter, they will be able to continue using it. So this doesn't affect those who are two years old, but those inside asking now, they're only going to get a one-year leave.
