Radical, pro-censorship, Soros-tied Gigi Sohn has withdrawn her nomination to serve on the Federal Communications Commission after more than a year.
The Wall Street Journal reported March 7 that Biden’s pick Gigi Sohn has withdrawn her nomination to be appointed to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and has notified the White House. Sohn’s “conflicts of interest” and demonstrated partisan zeal for government overreach and censorship make her withdrawal a win after a year of stalling.
"Good riddance, we're saved from another awful Biden nominee," said MRC Founder and President Brent Bozell.
Sohn whined that she was withdrawing because “legions of cable and media industry lobbyists, their bought-and-paid-for surrogates, and dark money political groups” exposed her sketchy record, The Journal reported. Sohn hyperbolically called it “a sad day for our country and our democracy.”
Fifteen free speech advocates, including MRC Free Speech America Vice President Dan Schneider, just signed a letter to Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation Chairwoman Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Ranking Member Ted Cruz (R-TX) urging them to oppose Sohn’s nomination. The letter provided evidence that Sohn is a “partisan actor” who is “unqualified” to be Federal Communications Commission (FCC) commissioner, with “serious conflicts of interest.”
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said Tuesday he would vote against Sohn, The Journal reported. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) also came out strongly against Sohn, calling her an “extreme partisan” with “bad judgment and poor ethics.”
Considering how anti-free speech Sohn has been, it’s a great day for democracy as she withdraws, thanks to reporting from various outlets including MRC.
MRC Free Speech America and Business exposed Sohn’s ties, including financial ties, to radical leftist billionaire George Soros. Sohn also campaigned furiously against Fox News, among other pro-censorship actions.
