UK’s NHS Secretly Removes ‘Women’ from Page on Menopause

Our allies across the pond in the UK are having just as much fun with woke propaganda as we are in the states. The Daily Mail caught the National Health Service red-handed removing the words “women” and “woman” from their page on menopause despite ministers promise to tone down woke language, as they reported June 28. Surgeons at an NHS hospital

Health Secretary Sajid Javid condemned the change, saying “common sense and the right language” should be used to avoid improper treatment, per The Mail. MailOnline discovered the changes that were updated May 17 to remove “woman” and “women.” A spokesperson said, “The NHS website provides information for everyone. We keep the pages under continual review to ensure they use language that is inclusive, respectful and relevant to the people reading it.”

Javid said that he was “prepared to wage war against gender-free language” in light of the recent change on the website, said The Mail. At least someone in the NHS sees what’s going on and has some concern.

Dr. Karleen Gribble, expert in Nursing and Midwifery at Western Sydney University in Australia commented on the change, saying, “The risk of de-sexing this information remains that women who have low English or health literacy may not know that the information applies to them. That first sentence of the older version ‘The menopause is when a woman stops having periods and is no longer able to get pregnant naturally’ is really important in signposting to women that they should read further.”

When pressed on whether or not he would change the wording back, Javid said “I am looking into this and you'll know, look, the NHS, there (are) many different trusts and I want to listen to why someone might have taken a different approach -- I don't just want to assume -- but I think I've made my views clear on this.”

Per the Mail, Javid also said, “I know there's some sensitivity around this language, but we have to use common sense and use the right language so that we can give people the best possible patient care.”

Level heads and reasonable people are in short supply across the Western world. We can only hope they prevail over nonsensical propaganda infecting the hard sciences.
