And the school board is somehow still divided on whether or not to renew the Pennsylvania coach’s contract.
A transgender employee who was hired as David Yates, but who now chooses to go by Sasha Yates, reportedly stripped down to his bra and panties in the women's locker room while students were changing there.
A school board member who was familiar with the situation, which took place in the fall of 2022, told The Epoch Timesthat the young ladies could clearly tell that Yates was still fully a man. I won’t go into specifics of why, but you can imagine what they mean.
This isn’t the first time Yates has been accused of inappropriate conduct in or around the Gettysburg, North Carolina public high school. In April, a 16-year-old softball player went to use the ladies' room and said Yates followed her in, trying to “strike up a conversation,” Truth Press reported. While the girl didn’t admit that anything physical or overly provocative happened, she was certainly “very uncomfortable” and the fact that Yates - a male - followed her into the women's bathroom was a large jump over the line of acceptable in and of itself.
The girl’s father, Steve Carbaugh, was told back in April that school officials decided not to rehire Mr. Yates for another season of coaching, and that this instance with Carbaugh’s daughter wasn’t Yates’ first bathroom incident.
Here’s what Carbaugh said:
My job as a parent is to protect my child. And he had no business going into that bathroom, and his actions proved that he cannot be trusted. He went into a girls’ locker room and changed while the girls varsity soccer team was in there. They talked to him about it. And he went into a girls’ restroom facility. When is enough enough?
After this event, while some on the school board wanted to fire Mr. Yates, they ultimately decided to allow him to continue coaching but said that he wouldn’t be re-hired the following year. However, it’s now that new season, and the board is still supposedly divided on whether or not to hire him. And Carbaugh's not happy about it.
“This is a grown man, going into a bathroom with a juvenile female. That’s a problem. That’s a huge problem,” Mr. Carbaugh said.
Honestly, gender identity aside, I never knew that it was okay for teachers or coaches to undress in front of students. That alone should be grounds for firing. Nevermind doing that, then following girls into the bathroom for chit-chat? That is pedophilic behavior.
Parents have every single right to be upset.
