Poll Finds a Shockingly Few Americans Say They Value Religion & Patriotism

Honestly, this isn’t surprising.

The Wall Street Journal released data from a NORC survey this week showing that the number of Americans who value religion and patriotism has tanked in recent years. But while the numbers of self-described patriotic and faithful people are low, this doesn’t necessarily come as a shock.

The study found that only 38% of Americans say that patriotism is “very important,” which is significantly lower than the 70% who prioritized patriotism in 1998.

Think about it: it's becoming more and more popular for school classrooms to display pride flags or Black Lives Matter flags than the American flag. Our constitutional rights are stripped from us daily and the left seems to be in celebration of it. Whether it's the First Amendment that enshrines our right to free speech or the Second Amendment protecting our freedom to defend ourselves, the left hates everything that celebrates our nation and have fully embraced this anti-American movement.

Similarly, the study indicated that only 39% of Americans claimed that religion was “very important” to them, down from the 62% in ‘98.

Again, this isn't surprising. Many major religions like Christianity value traditions and standards that woke people tend to disagree with, so of course, if you agree with most left-wing propaganda, its likely you’re one of the 61% who don't value religion.

Then we’ve got lukewarm churches or blaspheming pastors and preachers who claim that woke, leftist ideas are actually of the Bible. For example, a few weeks ago a pastor claimed that “God is gay," "trans” and “black,” among other false claims. Then we’ve got religious leaders claiming that abortion and the Bible are in line with one another, and that drag queen events are great opportunities for fundraisers for youth mission trips.

Long-held values of Americanism, the traditional family unit, going to church, and generally acting, you know, normalhave gone out the window and been replaced with blasphemous, woke propaganda.

On Fox News’ America’s Newsroom today, host Dana Perino spoke with Andy Stanley, a pastor from Georgia about this growing trend. Stanley pointed out a major, flawed thought process that has gotten people to this viewpoint.

Leadership has been reduced to ‘follow me because I hate the same people you hate,’ ‘follow me, I fear the same people that you fear,’ and that’s terrible leadership. A leader who has to have an enemy in order to lead is a bad leader.

While Stanley's comments may have been aimed at leaders in general, his description is so indicative of many on the left. Whether it's teachers looking to indoctrinate their students with pro-trans or anti-white curricula, abortion activists branding life-saving pregnancy centers as evil, or President Joe Biden himself labeling millions of right-leaning Americans as the enemy, identity politics is at the core of their divisive ideology.

It’s a shame that these numbers are so low - but thankfully, low doesn’t mean zero. At the Media Research Center, we look to expose these anti-American, anti-Judeo-Christian values in our culture, in the media and in Big Tech. Pointing them out is the first step in reversing them.
