Hulu's 'High Fidelity:' Kanye West Has ‘Mental Health Issue’ for Wearing MAGA Hat

Hulu premiered its new series High Fidelity, an adaptation of a novel and movie of the same name, February 14. The twist was that the main character, Rob, who owns a record store, is an African American female instead of a Caucasian man in this remake. A far worse change is the show's treatment of rapper Kanye West for wearing a MAGA hat.

In the second episode, titled Track 2, Rob (Zoe Kravitz) and Cherise (Da’Vine Joy Randolph) are arguing about whether to sell a customer a Michael Jackson album because he was a child molester. Cherise does not want to sell the album; Rob then reminds her that she still “listens to a guy who raps in a MAGA hat.” At which point Cherise responds that “having shitty politics and a second-grade understanding of American history is a tiny bit different than being a God damn child molester.”

So, because Kanye West likes Trump, he has "shitty" politics and a second grade understanding of American history?

She then defends Kanye by saying that he “has a mental health issue.” Because that is the only reason that a reasonable person would willingly wear a MAGA hat and like Trump.

Rob - “You still listen to a guy who raps in a MAGA hat.”

Cherise - "Are you serious? Having shitty politics and a second-grade understanding of American history is a tiny bit different than being a God damn child molester.”

Customer - “Allegedly.”

Cherise - “Kanye West has a mental health issue.”

Rob - “You don’t think Michael Jackson had a fuckin’ mental health issue?”

The hatred of Trump and anyone who wears a MAGA hat continues in Hollywood.
