The left’s defense of abortion never fails to produce tragic irony. The potential overturning of Roe v. Wade has sent lefties howling in rage, including black female-led organizations. How ironic that a black-led organization wants to defend an industry that targets black babies.
Marcela Howell, founder, and executive director of In Our Own Voice: National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda, said anything that prevents black women from murdering their children, like the Hyde Amendment, is oppressive. “All these kinds of barriers have been set in front of women of low income, which are predominantly women of color. And those barriers have been there,” Howell said. “So Roe has always been the floor, not the ceiling.”
Yet 36% of all abortions are black babies. Does Howell care to know that in states such as New York, more black babies are being aborted than born? The left always wants to omit abortion as the largest form of systemic racism against African Americans.
Jane stokes fear for those who will seek abortions in a post-Roe world. “For the 23 states that have passed ‘trigger laws,’ the ban would go into effect almost immediately, forcing most of those seeking services to travel elsewhere,” Jane writes. “In response, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot pledged $500,000 to help city residents do just that. Other organization's leaders are doing the same.” Rather than promote the health and strength of the black family, Jane would rather have black women aid in the destruction of the black family.
Absurdly, LaTosha Brown, founder of Black Voters Matter, said “What resonates with the way that we’re organizing is that we organized this as a connected issue — abortion rights, voting rights — all of those things are all connected. They’re not different.” Failing to see the difference between voting in an election and murdering children is appalling and shows the centrality of abortion to these left-wing groups.
Once again, the left-wing groups defend their sacrament of abortion but fail to understand the irony of their politics. If these groups care about black lives and the black family, they should stop supporting the slaughter of future generations.
