Some in the media are celebrating the new royal baby by sharing artwork comparing the royal family to the Holy Family.

On Monday, the duchess of Cambridge, Catherine (Kate) Middleton, gave birth to her third child with Prince William. The new British baby is fifth in line to the throne, with his older siblings, George and Charlotte, ahead of him. Women in the World, an offshoot of The Daily Beast and a New York Times partner, celebrated the “happy news” by tweeting out a painting portraying the new little one as Baby Jesus, with Kate as the Virgin Mary.

Prince William appeared as Joseph, alongside George and Charlotte.

The painting comes from artist Kaya Mar. In the past, the controversial painter illustrated Kate as “a 21st-century saint” for the births of both George and Charlotte as well.

For Charlotte’s birth portrait, Mar argued that, “I’m not really making fun of the princess, but of the way we all look at her.”

However, he appears to be the only one making the Holy Family comparison.
