Media ‘Fight Back’ Election By Donating To Planned Parenthood

November 9th, 2016 11:52 AM

Election results got you down? Send money to America's largest abortion provider. You'll feel better – according to the liberal media.

Following Trump’s win in the 2016 presidential election, media figures from Vanity Fair to MTV took to Twitter to express their disgust. To combat the “hopelessness” and “helpless” feelings, they tweeted a solution: donate to abortion giant Planned Parenthood to “honor” Hillary Clinton.

In the past, the networks have stressed Planned Parenthood’s endorsement of Clinton this election (even though the media stayed silent on Trump’s pro-life support).

To begin, Katey Rich, deputy editor of Vanity Fair, tweeted that she had two tasks to do following the election. She listed “donating to Planned Parenthood” as the first.

Susan Dennard, a New York Times bestselling author, encouraged her followers to donate to “ppl most hurt” by the election, including Planned Parenthood.

TV Guide staff writer Sadie Gennis tweeted that despite feeling “defeated,” her followers should “find ways to fight back and do good today” (in other words, donate to Planned Parenthood).

Mashable deputy entertainment editor Erin Strecker highlighted Planned Parenthood donations as a way to stop the “hopelessness.”

MTV columnist Anne T. Donohue shared a Planned Parenthood donate link for those feeling “helpless.”

MTV and TBS TV writer Celeste Ballard gave “in honor of” Hillary Clinton.

Buzzfeed senior writer Joanna Borns also publicized her donation to the abortion giant.

Borns’ tweet came as a response to writer Rachael Berkey (Daily Dot, Huffington Post, Playboy), who recommended Planned Parenthood to Borns as a good charity for donations.

A producer for Buzzfeed, Ashly Perez pointed to Planned Parenthood as a “good organization” for donations.

Sophia Benoit, who has written for the Guardian, recommended putting “effort into” Planned Parenthood.

Other media writers and producers are joining the campaign on Twitter by the minute, including HuffPo and Cosmo writer Kendra Alvey, Bustle books editor Cristina Arreoladirector Michael Bonfiglio (Oprah’s Master Class), Romper/Bustle editor Danielle Campoamor, Entertainment Weekly writer Devan CogganGothamist associate editor Rebecca FishbeinMovies.com and Fandago senior editor Peter S. HallHuffPo writer Greg HogbenBillboard music editor Jason LipshutzMTV host Daniel Ralston, Tonight Show writer Albertina Rizzo, Buzzfeed staffer Garrett Werner and Wirecutter/NYTimes associate editor Michael Zhao.

Even then, it’s doubtful the media will be able to make up the millions of dollars spent by Planned Parenthood during this election cycle.
