The Star Spangled Banner is one of the hardest songs, even for our most revered musicians, to actually perform well. But since it’s our National Anthem, of course, our most sacred musical piece is the go-to target of every self-inflated celebrity who figures they can make the song, and its meaning about themselves.
One wannabe pop star figured she couldn’t get away with phoning in her “talent,” as usual, when the Los Angeles Dodgers graciously invited her to screech the National Anthem at their stadium.
So she decided to win some quick press by inverting the anthem in Spanish, as part of an unoriginal attempt to signal virtue to our foreign invaders.
This "influencer" and her ilk of sheltered LA types could take use in learning that our National Anthem ends in a question: Whether America will still survive, and will our brave countrymen ensure it does? Or will it end on a sour note... in a foreign language.
