With the rise of transgenderism in our country today, we are forced to wrestle with a host of issues and questions that weren’t on anyone’s radar a mere 15 years ago. Should trans athletes be allowed to compete in women’s sports? Can children undergo transition surgeries without parental consent? The list goes on.
This is rightfully a divisive issue, so the Washington Post surveyed 1,338 American adults to see how many people believe biological men like Lia Thomas should compete in women’s sports.
The results came in, and it wasn’t what the WaPo expected.
Americans were asked if they supported transgenders in women’s sports in four different categories: youth, high school, college, and professional. The answers were resoundingly against having men compete against women, as 62 percent responded “No” for youth sports, 66 percent said the same thing for high school athletics, and 65 percent were against it in both college and professional sports.
A good example of how left wing media distorts reality — I’m labeled “controversial” for saying men who identify as women shouldn’t play women’s sports, yet huge majorities of Americans agree with me according to @washingtonpost poll. pic.twitter.com/VvMsWN99cx

But the WaPo continued to get more bad news. Many of the respondents also voiced their opposition to transitioning children in the first place.
“We can’t vote until we’re a certain age, we can’t smoke, drink or whatever, but we can change our bodies’ anatomy and how it works?” Alyssa Wells, from Daytona Beach, Florida, said. “It just doesn’t seem like that’s okay to me.”
And medically "transitioning" kids is not okay for many Americans, either. The results of the survey found that:
Nearly 7 in 10 adults said they oppose allowing children ages 10 to 14 access to medication that stops the body from going through puberty, and nearly 6 in 10 oppose giving 15- to 17-year-olds access to hormone treatments.
While the results of one poll do not mean that America is no longer going to have any issues with transgender ideology, it does show that more people have common sense than we might think. Who would have thought it would be the Washington Post that would reveal this good news?
