‘Live N’ Let Die With Covid 45’: ‘Guns N’ Roses’ Sell Anti-Trump Band T-Shirts

One 80s rock group isn’t content with being a part of rock ‘n’ roll history and has been trying way too hard at gaining relevance by selling band merch with political attacks against President Trump.

Spurred on by its frontman’s hatred for the 45th president, legendary hard rock band Guns N’ Roses has started marketing band T-shirts which include hateful messages directed at Trump and his coronavirus response.

The band’s Twitter page revealed its new politically-charged GNR T-shirts on Wednesday, May 13. The message emblazoned on each black shirt was a reference to the band’s famous 1991 cover of Paul McCartney’s “Live and Let Die” but with a coronavirus twist. The words stated, “Live N’ Let Die with COVID 45,” making the point that the 45 president is the real virus.

A Trump slam? How rock and roll. Guess Axl and the boys really need that purple-hair, catlady #resist demographic to carry on their hard rock image.

According to the official Guns N’ Roses website, each shirt costs $25 and will be available on June 10. The extra cool thing about these shirts is that money generated from sales goes to MusiCares, a coronavirus relief initiative sponsored by The Recording Academy.

Though there’s something off about promoting a divisive smear aimed at the people in charge of dealing with the pandemic that’s also intended on bringing relief and healing. Yeah, we’ll berate Trump and his supporters as being responsible for nearly 100,000 deaths, but look we’re generating money to make the world a better place. It’s kind of a mixed message.

Of course, this isn’t new for Guns N’ Roses. The band’s lead singer has been a longtime hater of Donald Trump. His new shirts’ message is the second act in a recent feud he has been having with Trump administration officials. Last week Rose decided to insult Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin over social media.

Out of nowhere Rose blasted Mnuchin, tweeting on May 6, “it’s official! Whatever anyone may have previously thought of Steve Mnuchin he’s officially an asshole.” Apparently Rose was annoyed at a recent Fox Business interview during which the official discouraged international travel but encouraged domestic travel. He was also irked by a recent video of Trump visiting an N95 mask factory as “Live and Let Die” played in the background.

After Mnuchin responded with the question, “What have you done for the country lately?”, Rose spat back, blaming the administration for Chinese virus deaths and berating Mnuchin for his own virus guidance.

Well at least Rose and his band can now say they did something for the country by donating money earned on insulting, hateful merch. Gee, thanks!
