Wednesday’s news that the Senate Impeachment trial of president Trump might conclude without testimony from any new witnesses had the Hollywood left convulsing.
The left has been clamoring to hear new evidence of Trump’s corruption during the Senate trial, hoping that testimony from witnesses like ambassador John Bolton would reveal the guilt of the president, that they’re so adamant exists. Democrats are claiming to be aghast that the Senate GOP won’t allow additional witnesses and calling it a “cover-up.” (Strange, considering Rep. Adam Schiff and Rep. Nadler are adamant that Impeachment managers “proved” the case.)
Since the The Hill reported on Wednesday that Senate Maj. Leader Mitch McConnell was confident in getting enough votes to bypass bringing in new witnesses, Hollywood lefties’ furor went nuclear.
Hellboy actor Ron Perlman blew his stack, tweeting an unhinged condemnation of the “rigged” trial. The angry guy responded to The Hill’s report, blasting the “mothafukka” GOP senators. “Go head muthafuckas, rig the vote. Rig the trial. Hang that around your necks and wear it on the chain of gold you gain by shilling for despots and scumbags,” Perlman wrote adding, “And enjoy your last days! Cuz when we come for you we’re comin hard.” Hmm is that a threat of physical violence or just electoral retribution. Hard to tell considering Perlman often comes off as a maniac.
Perlman seemed so annoyed at the prospect of losing that he hounded Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on the platform. In response to the Texas senator’s quick press conference, he tweeted, “Yo ted, remember when the douchbag attacked you wife and your dad? What kinda slimeball defends a man like that? And why should anyone give a shit about what slimeballs spew?”
Perhaps restraining orders are appropriate? Can’t be too careful, Senator.
Rob Reiner gave us another hysterical assessment on the death of democracy, claiming it’s happened this time around. No, really. The actor/director tweeted, “Trump’s lawyers argue that foreign interference in our elections is perfectly fine. Republican Senators agree. Make no mistake. We are on the precipice of the death of Democracy.” It’s hard to take him seriously when this level of hysteria is routine for the man.
Yesterday, Reiner let his emotions get the better of him as well, urging Bolton to testify. He tweeted, “Getting sick and tired of this crap. John Bolton, be a Patriot. Go straight to the public and tell US what you know. STOP FUCKING AROUND!” Ah yes, relying on their sworn warmonger enemy to save them. Sounds pretty desperate.
Bette Midler dropped some F-bombs as well, retweeting a video of Trump mispronouncing words at his most recent rally and mocking him as revenge for the “cover up.” She commented, “This is the man the entire GOP is covering for. He doesn’t seem well. But he’s laughed at the disabled and so many others, so fuck him! Go ahead and laugh!”
Idiotic Bernie bro John Cusack also tweeted about democracy’s death and those complicit in killing it, writing, “John Roberts was remarkable in keeping time- And being polite - while democracy dies.” Thanks John, because voting for Bernie is the safest and most sober choice in all of this, right?
