Amal Clooney Tells Students to Be ‘Courageous’ for Gays and Downtrodden Journalists

If you’re a proud member of the #Resistance, then college commencement season might be one the most exciting times of the year. You get to see famous Hollywood faces speak at graduations across the country all about the sensitive liberal issues that are near and dear to your heart. It’s like they really feel your pain, and it's proof that even the beautiful people see the need for a world without the twisted moral norms that deplorables might get from church, or the constitution.

This year, one of the celebrity college commencement speakers was Amal Clooney. She and husband George make up one of Hollywood’s most prominent power couples, and since they are media titans, one of the most outspoken duos for the progressive PC agenda. Amal, an international human-rights attorney took her message of peace, love, and “courage” to Tennessee, where she addressed Vanderbilt University’s class of 2018.

The speech involved the typical charge to the students for them to live out their faiths and values in the real world. By that, she meant that students should have the courage to enforce liberal orthodoxy throughout the public square and promote tolerance and safe spaces for everyone except Christians and conservatives.

In particular, Amal mentioned the dangers facing women, queer folk, and the poor, victimized journalists who have been ravaged by the harsh words of President Donald Trump. She claimed:

Courage is needed more than ever. At a time when women all over the world face physical abuse, restrictions over their ability to work, own property, travel and even have custody over their children, we need courage. At a time when the LGBT on every continent struggles for equal rights, freedom from imprisonment and even death, we need courage. At a time when more journalists are imprisoned around the world than anytime in the last three decades, and even here at home the media is under attack from the White House, we need courage.

To mention imprisoned journalists in the same breath as the U.S. media may validate Jim Acosta, but it trivializes actual tyranny.

But who’s surprised? Amal is all about that future leftist utopia. Two months ago she and George were both donating massive amounts of cash to the Parkland-led gun control efforts. She likens the fourth estate to a collection of persecuted crusaders, trying to alter the narrative for the sake of socialist America. This is just another reason why people should think twice before sending their kids to these lefty schools.
