Women everywhere rejoice! The popular magazine referred to as the “Woman’s Bible,” will be coming straight to your television. No more waiting for a month in suspense to find out how to tease and please your guy on your next date.
NBC recently announced it would pick up a fictional TV drama series based on the lives of those working at the popular women’s magazine, Cosmopolitan. Cosmo’s editor-in-chief, Joanna Coles, is set to be the executive producer of the series.
Variety reported, “[w]ith the full support and involvement of Coles, the fictional series is inspired by the editor, giving a glimpse into the lives — and love lives — of the staff responsible for the number one women’s magazine in the world.”
Viewers can expect to indulge in the same steamy gossip as readers do. There will be no shortage of shocking sex confessions, how to find your G-spot, or best booty workouts every woman must know.
“Just like the readers they cater to, the characters’ struggles are about balancing career and family, finding your identity, and according to the logline, “having the most mind blowing orgasms,” while getting your heart broken and managing friendships — all while wearing the perfect pair of jeans to flatter any body type[,]” Variety continued.
This isn’t Cosmo’s first time at the TV rodeo though. According to Variety, “[l]ess than a year ago, NBC was developing a show with a very similar logline from The Bachelorette's Leslye Headland, with Coles also attached as an exec producer. The single-camera comedy followed a failed political blogger who restarts her life in New York as the "sex" editor for a prestigious and provocative women's magazine.”
NBC is predicting greater success this time by labeling the series as a drama and having the show “more based-on the magazine, rather than inspired-by.”
It is such a comfort knowing that in a world where it is nearly impossible to find a family-friendly TV show, at least sex goddess secrets to turn on your man aren’t lacking.
