It’s a Match made in Hollywood – antique game show and even more antique liberal actor. Alec Baldwin is back as executive producer and host of ABC’s re-booted game show, Match Game, premiering June 26.
That means, on June 26, Baldwin will prompt guests to creatively fill in the blank on some unfinished sentences.
This fine actor and foul-mouthed leftist brings back Newsbusters memories. So, here are Baldwin’s top seven run-ins with liberal hypocrisy and mania since 2007.
1. THAT ONE TIME BALDWIN CONNECTED GLOBAL WARMING TO THE WAR IN IRAQ
“If you don’t think there is a link between the weather and Iraq, you are wrong,” he proclaimed on Huffington Post in 2007.
Decrying the Bush administration’s decision to send more troops into Iraq, Baldwin declared that being a role model for China on energy policy was, in importance, “on par with ‘fighting terror.’”
Leftists are always OK exporting a few Western values to the rest of the world.
2. THAT ONE TIME BALDWIN MADE EVEN ANDERSON COOPER UPSET ABOUT LIBERAL BIAS.
In June 2013, Baldwin tweeted gay slurs and physical threats at a British reporter after the reporter allegedly caught Baldwin’s wife updating her social media during a funeral.
Anderson Cooper asked, “Why does #AlecBaldwin get a pass when he uses gay slurs? If a conservative talked of beating up a 'queen' they would be vilified.”
Remember that article about global warming and the war in Iraq? That’s why he gets a pass.
Thanks, Anderson.
3. THAT ONE TIME BALDWIN EXPLAINED HIS ANTI-GAY SLURS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH GAYS.
Baldwin has nothing against gays. When he called that reporter a “toxic little queen.” “It doesn’t have any necessarily sexual connotations.” “Queen,” he explained to the Gothamist, is a word he uses to describe both men and women—just anyone who thinks they’re “above” you. No word from Queen Latifah in response.
4. THAT ONE TIME BALDWIN CHASED A PAPARAZZI SCREAMING ANTI-LGBT SLURS.
Despite his long apology to GLAAD for the last run-in with the LGBT community, Baldwin was inventing gay slurs again in no time. OK, can’t blame him for being mean to the paparazzi. But imagine media reaction if Baldwin had been conservative.
In the summer of 2013, the Food Network fired Paula Deen after it was revealed that she had used the N-word several decades prior. Fast forward a few months. Baldwin is running down the street screaming, “c•cksucking f•g” and “toxic little queen.”
Well, now he has an ABC TV show. He’s liberal, so he get’s a pass.
5. THAT ONE TIME BALDWIN PRAISED BILL CLINTON AND CONDONED HIS AFFAIRS.
Being interviewed on George Stephanopoulos, Baldwin said this. “You want him [Bill Clinton] to drink? You want him to take prescription medicine? If the way he takes the edge off is he likes women, then, I’m, like, OK.”
What’s important for Baldwin is that Bill Clinton is “tough.” He is as tough as “Chuck Yeager to me,” Baldwin said. Clinton is “so goddamn tough, this guy.”
6. THAT ONE TIME WHEN BALDWIN WAS INCONVENIENCED BY LIBERALS DURING HIS COMMUTE.
“Protestors have blocked off a huge quadrant of midtown traffic in support of a higher minimum wage,” he complained. “I support their goal, not their method.”
“Life in NY is hard enough as is.” “NY’s ethos dissolves every day that individuals or groups put their needs/goals ahead of everyone else’s.” The celebrity’s tweets foamed on and on.
7. THAT ONE TIME BALDWIN OPENED HIS MOUTH AT A CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE.
This spring, Baldwin came full circle with more global warming nonsense. At the UN climate change conference he was attending, he told a reporter that “everyone in the room understands” that “There can be no successful climate agreement and no future for our planet without greater protection of the world’s forests.”
Those who don’t “understand” this are mentally ill. “And so much of what's coming on now is something that we have to treat as if it's a mental illness. I believe that climate change denial is a form of mental illness.”
With Baldwin’s new show premiering in just a few days, the list of Baldwin’s left-wing lunacies is bound to grow. Let’s just hope he doesn’t fill in the blank with too much of his expansive vocabulary.
