Gina Carano on Whoopi Goldberg Suspension: '2 weeks to slow the double standards'

Gina Carano is in the news again in the wake of The View's Whoopi Goldberg's (stage name) 2-week suspension at Disney-owned ABC. Goldberg received the brief suspension for claiming "the Holocaust isn't about race" and was just "two white groups."

In February 2021, Carano was fired from her popular role as Cara Dune on Disney's The Mandalorian for a far less incendiary Instagram post describing how the Holocaust was preceded by a government encouraging people to hate their neighbors.

After Goldberg's suspension, Carano tweeted out on February 2, "Two weeks to slow the double standards." The actress followed up with another tweet the same day calling for "Conversation over cancellation."

Carano is currently filming Terror on the Prairie, her upcoming western movie produced by The Daily Wire.

However, Ben Shapiro has criticized Goldberg's shocking comments. In a recent column, he stated "Hitler repeatedly referred to the Jews as a race of parasites, and targeted Jews on the basis of ethnicity rather than religious adherence."

Shapiro's The Daily Wire published an article, 'Liberal Privilege is Real,' pointing out the hypocrisy of the corporate media in their treatment of Goldberg versus Carano.

Democratic North Carolina congressional candidate Mark Judson re-tweeted the article with the comment, “Gina Carano got fired – Good! She pushed ‘The Big Lie’ – she should be in Prison – not in movies. If RepubliQans weren’t too lazy too read – they might Google the definition of ‘Seditious Conspiracy.’ It’s time to take out the trash.”

On February 3, Carano was also hit with an article by the Deseret News that falsely described her original Instagram post. In an embarrassing correction, the Deseret News admitted, "This article said one of Carano’s posts compared conservatives with Jewish people and that those conservative views were just like Jewish people during the Holocaust. This article has been changed to reflect a more accurate explanation."

Tweeting the Deseret News article, Carano questioned whether "journalists" had "completely given up on research."

The New York Post reported on an Instagram post which lead to Carano's firing by Disney, “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children.”

“Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews," a quote from the now-deleted Instagram post described. "How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”

The comments by Goldberg which lead to a mere suspension included her description of the Holocaust as “white people doing it to white people. So, this is y'all go fight amongst yourselves.”
