Editor’s Note: Normal people might find some of this offensive. (We hope.)
A regular read of liberal websites calls to mind the famous Ian Drury and the Blockheads song, “Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll.” To quote the late punker, that’s “all my brain and body need.” Throw in politics and hating on conservatives and you have just defined every liberal website of any significance.
Where would sites like HuffPo or, God help us, Cosmo, be without weird and freaky sex stories? Next, remember that liberals are even ahead of libertarians in the pro-drug movement. Whether it’s pot or peyote, the left wants us all on it. You’d think they had read Brave New World and wanted the populace stoned out on Soma. (Hint: They have and they do.) Think music, though admittedly not rock ‘n’ roll, and you get HuffPo highlighting the Dixie Chicks lead singer bashing Trump.
‘Ethical,’ Feminist Porn (NSFW): Those have to be some of the worst marketing words ever. I’m sure creepy people in the audience are trying to wrap their brains around even two of those words. ‘Ethical,’ feminist porn might as well also call itself gluten free or math. Math magazine (No, I’m not making this up) is the darling of Huffington Post which terms it “tactile, bold and a bit nerdy.” Perhaps PlayNerd was taken. Editor-in-Chief MacKenzie Peck wanted to envision (actual quote) “her very own progressive porn publication after growing frustrated with the ambiguous and sometimes unethical practices in so much of mainstream porn production.” Leave it to HuffPo to celebrate left-wing porn without pointing out that pornography is massively harmful both to those involved and those who view it. Here’s detailed research on just how bad it is for everyone. (Thanks to Arina Grossu for the help.) It’s easy to make fun of Math. The jokes practically write themselves. But it’s more important to point out the lives scarred as we normalize pornography in our mass-market culture. Read the story of how porn destroyed one 19-year-old’s life so badly that she killed herself. Maybe then this doesn’t seem so funny.
Everybody Must Get Stoned: Most people have seen the drunk/drugged version of Stupid People Tricks -- either on TV or up close and personal. Sane people view nationwide drug abuse as a major health crisis. It’s so bad that drug abuse was a factor in the presidential debates for both parties. To the crazy folks from Alternet, drug use is just a punch line. Actual quote: “Have you ever wondered what it would be like to put together an Ikea chest of drawers while tripping brains on acid?” No. No normal person has, but, hey, druggies are funny! On one hand, you watch (actual quote) “a young couple known as Giancarlo and Nikki eat some blotter acid, get giggly, develop cosmic consciousness, dance around a while, then get down to the task at hand.” But since they succeed, it looks more like an IKEA advertisement: “Our instructions are so clear, even a drug-addled idiot can do it.” Yes they can.
We Learned A Dirty Word! Aren’t We Cool: It’s not exactly rock ‘n’ roll, but it will have to do. Rapper YG and Nipsey Hussle’s “song” “Fuck Donald Trump” (FDT) is back with more starpower, more F-bombs and more stupidity. In the words of Rolling Stone: “YG, Macklemore and G-Eazy spread their righteous anti-Trump message in the stark, black-and-white clip for ‘FDT (Fuck Donald Trump) Part 2.’" The new, “righteous” video features an exploding Trump effigy and lots of cursing. It doesn’t matter which side you are on in an election, media promoting a song that says “Fuck Donald Trump” more than 30 times, falsely claims we sell “automatic guns” and compares a belief system (Islam) to being white, is a disaster. This is the same strategy liberals employ every election. They highlight “cool” celebs to push a liberal agenda and influence voters who know nothing about politics. Actual quote: “A Trump rally sounds like Hitler and Berlin.” And “The truth be told, Donald Trump is a terrorist.” On the bright side for Trumpeters, if Obama thinks you are a terrorist, he might just transfer you. Liberals only want to lock you up if they don’t like how you think.
