As radical leftist media increase their attacks on President Donald Trump with the midterm elections nearing, readers continue to flee their publications, Media Research Center (MRC) President David Bozell noted Monday.
Responding to social media posts by NBCNews.com, The Washington Post, and Newsweek promoting their vitriolic articles smearing Trump, Bozell reminded the outlets of the apparent cost of their biased, agenda-driven reporting.
“NBCNews.com is down 46% year over year…,” Bozell replied to a post ignoring Iran’s nuclear threat and claiming that Pres. Trump betrayed his campaign promises of lower prices.
“Newsweek is down 61% year over year…,” Bozell noted in response to the publication’s post claiming that “Trump says he doesn't ‘give a damn’ about rising gas prices as he claims the US is making a fortune from the Middle East conflict.”
Scrutiny of Newsweek’s article appears to reveal that Trump was actually claiming that he didn’t “give a damn” about “fake news” smears, especially given the importance of protecting the U.S. from Iran’s nuclear ambitions:
"‘I can just see the fake headlines,’ Trump said. ‘President Trump is talking about all the money they're making while people are suffering at the pump.’
"But I said, ‘I don't give a damn, I'm gonna say it: We're making a frickin fortune,’ he added.
“Trump went on to claim that Americans were ‘paying lower than Biden and Obama and they don't have nuclear weapons,’ apparently referring to Iran's nuclear capabilities.”
“Washington Post is down 20% year over year…,” Bozell replied to the publication’s X.com introduction to a blatantly biased, anti-Trump article promoting former President Barack Obama’s unfounded accusations:
“Former president Barack Obama blistered his successor and delivered Democrats’ closing argument during a midterm rally on Saturday. ‘We have never seen a president excel in straight-up grifting on your dime like this,’ Obama said about President Trump.”
The declines for the three outlets cited by Bozell are year-over-year percentage changes reported by Press Gazette.
