“Kamala Harris just accused Republicans of ‘cheating’ for doing something most Americans call basic election integrity: removing ineligible voters and illegal immigrants from the rolls,” Fox News Channel Host Sean Hannity explained Wednesday.
“At a Detroit NAACP event, Harris told the crowd Republicans ‘took’ the tools Democrats ‘relied on for the last 50 years’ and are ‘cheating by purging voter rolls.’ Watch her make the case herself,” Hannity wrote in an Instagram post of Harris’ comments.
During her remarks, the former vice president made the following claim about Republicans:
“They are cheating by purging voter rolls. So, we say as leaders then, to vote, not only must you register to vote, check your voter registration status to make sure you haven’t been purged from the rolls.”
Harris said that Democrats will employ “creative” tactics to prevent Republicans from removing ineligible voters from the voter rolls:
“They’re trying to take our tools – but, we are a creative people – and we know how to fight.”
This wasn’t the first time Harris has branded the method of ensuring voter integrity “cheating.”
“Former Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday accused Republicans of ‘cheating’ by ‘purging’ voter rolls ahead of the midterm elections,” Off The Press reported last Wednesday in a Facebook video post of Harris making the following claim:
“You know they’ve been cheating out there; they’ve been purging voter rolls.”
Americans are, indeed, strongly supportive of voter verification, as The Washington Times explains:
“Multiple national polls have found broad public support for voter ID requirements. An August 2025 Pew Research Center study found that 83% of U.S. adults support requiring all voters to show government-issued photo identification at the polls, while only 16% oppose the requirement. Gallup found similarly broad support in October 2024, with 84% of U.S. adults in favor of photo ID requirements — including 98% of Republicans, 84% of independents, and 67% of Democrats. Separately, 83% backed proof of citizenship for first-time voter registration.”
