Gov. Mamdani: We’ll Replace ‘Rugged Individualism with the Warm of Collectivism’

Individualism will be replaced with conformity, and strength with dependence on others, self-described Democrat Socialist Zohran Mamdani promised Thursday after assuming office as mayor of New York City.

The self-sufficient, unique individual will now become an indistinct member of a collective mass providing “warmth,” Mayor Mamdani vowed:

"If for too long these communities have existed as distinct from one another, we will draw this city closer together. We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism. If our campaign demonstrated that people yearn solidarity then let it be done."

The “warmth of collectivism” is a communist mantra, Republicans were quick to note, warning that violent and deadly force is required to snuff out individual freedom.

“The ‘warmth’ of collectivism that always requires coercion and force. How many dead over the past 100 years due to collectivist ideologies?” Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis warned in a X.com post.

“When communists rule, individual rights—invariably—are taken away,” Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) cautioned in a post responding to Gov. Mamdani’s comment.

Indeed, more than 100 million people have died as a result of communism’s authoritarian rule.

“We must ensure that students learn the lessons of history, recognize the destructiveness of Marxism-Leninism, and appreciate the founding principles of the American republic,” Gov. DeSantis said last month on November 7, commemorating the state’s Victims of Communism Day.
