Blackish is known for being a politically and racially charged show, and this week's episode was no different. In Tuesday's episode, "Adventure to Ventura," the show compares Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old climate change activist/fanatic, to Alexander the Great, one of the world's, well, greatest and most successful military commanders in history and the teenage inventor of Braille.

HBO’s The New Pope is still attempting to prove itself just as bad if not worse than its predecessor series The Young Pope. To do that, the show proceeds to show us how the cardinals and priests ruin lives and are generally terrible people. This time around, they push a woman into prostitution and cause a nun protest. There’s apparently nothing terrible that isn’t caused by someone religious.

Shows that start out as a safe haven for people tired of liberal junk on television frequently can’t resist ending up spewing left-wing talking points. So it is with Netflix’s The Ranch which, in its eighth and final release, gave us a speech on gun control and a character who inexplicably turns gay in middle age. 

Since Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop brand is obsessed with vaginas, naturally her new series on Netflix, The Goop Lab, is, too. The six-part series released on January 24 featured 20 seconds of a woman exploring her vagina with a mirror (yes, we see close-ups of the vagina), a slideshow of 8 more vaginas, and almost three full minutes of a woman bringing herself to orgasm. 

Netflix's Sex Education series is back for its second season. This new season, released on January 17, included delightful items like a two and a half minute opening montage of the lead teen character continuously masturbating, a discussion on sexuality being fluid, and the trials of teens obtaining the Morning After Pill.

The 62nd Annual Grammy Award Show on CBS Sunday night was surprisingly mostly non-political. However, there was one mention of Trump’s impeachment by host Alicia Keys in her opening monologue song and Gary Clark Jr. sang his controversial song This Land.

It’s impeachment, impeachment, impeachment everywhere on news shows and even in some television programming that is supposed to be entertaining. Season three of Showtime’s Our Cartoon President by Stephen Colbert airing January 26 used the same theme with an episode titled “Impeachment.” How’s that for original thought?

The previous episode of CW’s Batwoman ended with the social justice hero herself admitting to the world that she is, in fact, a lesbian. This was apparently a huge deal despite this being 2020 and having nothing to do with being a superhero. It’s only naturally then that the show’s forced to introduce a homophobic police force to pretend having a lesbian lead really matters.

While television networks largely celebrate abortion, it’s worth noting that a celebration of life is taking place, with the annual March for Life on January 24. Whether networks will finally give these peaceful pro-lifers their due in media coverage, after for years neglecting them, remains to be seen. The NBC sitcom Perfect Harmony can be a charming show that often shows a positive, loving image of rural Christian churchgoers. While the show also goes off-key at times in its portrayal of rural Christians, it has steered clear of pushing contemporary sexual agendas.
